Doing that, does not add files to the ignore list. It just ignores them once. They are detected again at the next scan.

This new version seems better than previous version. Installed it but didn't updated it as was just checking GUI, options & all. Browser protection i.e extension is available. Quite a few options. Dont know if default settings are good or customizing the settings would be better. Coz looking at the options, feels like couple options enabled would be better. Experts can provide better info on those options. After install, game mode was enabled here, that I dont like. Dont know if proactive protection or behavior blocker is there or not, didn't notice any such thing, some kind of deep scan is there, dont remember enabled or disabled by default. Cant say anything about protection/detection.
i tried the new version of avetix this evening and i downloaded a few malware packs from malwaretips and extracted them and then compared the results to the results reported by BD free users on malwaretips. the results are practically identical - keeping in mind that the malware packs were a few days or weeks old. the only main difference between avetix and BD free i found apart from the gui and configuration options was that avetix is much much faster. as you may know scanning a malware pack with say 100 samples with BD free takes 10 minutes it only took 5-10 seconds with avetix. might stick with it
That's excellent to hear as most AVs using BD technology fall short of the original. If it is similar to BD Free, then it is similar to BD Paid, since BD Free does almost as well.
How is its PUPs detection, as I'm starting to consider that more important, as most computers I come across have more PUPs that real malware.
Also important is, this on-demand scan folder / malware pack result is good but what about real time protection ?? for example look at lavasoft (+BD engine), they score a poor 90% realtime and a 99% file detection http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart2&year=2015&month=4&sort=1&zoom=3 http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart2&year=2015&month=4&sort=1&zoom=3 So i would like to see a realtime result also
Avetix has just been updated again. It appears to be just a minor update, and the version number is still 5.0.0.
Do you sometime see popups in the tray area? (reg incentives) IIRC, the older (pre 5) version didn't have popups at all.
@fblais Yes they were not in the old versions. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avetix-antivirus.365587/page-6#post-2489067
Update for Avetix free version 5.0.150 Installed this half hour ago, very impressed, its very similar like 360 internet security was, very light on system So far running smooth.
Haven't seen any popups yet, only when its updated i see a notification. Results seen so far are very compareble to bitdefender. Edit: v 5.0.152 Had one popup at startup to buy Pro version Any other users here ?
seems to do a popup every 24h or so. detection still the same as bd free when i compare my results to bd free results on malwaretips
Do you also have an extra startup entry ? ( Ccleaner -> startup items) i saw a entry startup from bitdefender, but i think its not recommended at startup.
meh, now its started popping up warnings about invalid registry entries and junk files (i can free up 300 mb apparentyl) wanting me to buy the pro version - time for it to die edit: it wouldnt let me uninstall unless i typed at least 25 characters about why i uninstalled. i typed 'popups sdfsdgsdgdsgdsgdsgsddsfgsdgsdfgsdfgsdgdsdgdsgdsgsdgd' - should have typed 'popups + demanding i type at least 25 chars **** off'
It was the same with the last version too. I ended up enetering random characters too, after a fist couple of time I uninstalled it.
A new version of Avetix has just been released. I don't what has changed, as I have not installed it.
@Spokesman I use the download manager FlashGet to check for updated installers for about 70 programs of which Avetix is one of them. It downloaded an updated installer for Avetix yesterday.
Upon visiting the Avetix website when FlashGet was unable to check for an updated installer for it, I found that Avetix has been discontinued.
