I tried hola but its not working anymore on firefox and having issues. I just want something so i can watch some TV shows and content blocked in Canada.
So you're looking for speed and unblocking instead of privacy correct? How about this: http://proxydns.co/
If you don't want to download torrents or any other high bandwidth applications, there are a lot of options. If you need bandwidth, there aren't. Try VPNgate if you can live with their connection logging policy. I'd recommend using generic OpenVPN client software and using Japanese and Korean servers. They have decent speed but will cut you off after you've used around a Gb or so of data. There are also lots of free subscriptions to paid services offered from time to time. Cyberghost 3 month free subscriptions come up pretty often. For just unblocking content, you could try Smart DNS. No privacy but it supposed to be fast and is simple. You just change your OSes DNS settings, you don't need to install any software.
try wallcy in chrome store for chrome type browsers. Its the best unlimited with many servers. Also dotvpn is good too, but a bet slower speed (free) then wallcy.
These type of extensions are proxies, not true VPNs. Don't expect real privacy from a browser extension coded in javascript. You are going to have to play with network settings or use software that does that for you to create a real VPN tunnel.
well I tested them and they pass and as strong as any normal VPN. use check2ip.com to test. Also use script block and change your DNS to free open DNS IPs out there. Ofcaurse the best is if you get one of those paid powerful VPNs, but these are better then other extensions.
you can also use "jondo". It comes with free vpn and a Tor-type firefox browser all in one package. Its the most anonymous and safest VPN I found. Its FREE.
JonDo isn't a VPN. It's a mix network. That's different from Tor, which is an onion-routing network. Best maybe would be an onion-routing network with mixing and padding. But it doesn't exist ... Anyway, see https://www.ivpn.net/privacy-guides/adversaries-and-anonymity-systems-the-basics
I've tried this one https://www.betternet.co/, with great speeds, no advertising or disconnects. This might answer a few questions on why it's free... http://www.betternet.co/blog/?p=207
unfortunately it does not have the option for server change or multi-servers from the reviews. It has one UK server I read.
The truth is there are no "free" VPN services that provide you with unlimited bandwidth. All VPN services that provide you with unlimited bandwidth cost you money. Of course, if you want to pay for a VPN service with your credit card, you are not really going to be anonymous at all because they (the VPN service provider) will simply give the credit card info (with your real name and etc) to the government if the government was asking for this information from the VPN service provider. If you want a reasonable level of anonymity with a VPN service, you NEED to pay for it anonymously with Bitcoins or a prepaid credit card that isn't attached to your real name and other real world personal info.
