Given the recent revelations on firefox i have rather reluctantly decided to install and use the google chrome browser here on linux mint.Forward thinking has swayed my decision in this respect and in the long run i believe using chrome would be a logical step forward. It runs very well and ram and cpu usage is perfectly stable from what i can see. Currently in regard to the plugins i only have the flash and native client running. Is this the optimal usage or should other or all of the remaining plugins be enabled.? Thank you.
I have PDF Viewer enabled also, but it's not necessary if you don't want to open PDFs in browser. Other can be disabled.
Thanks Minimalist, I dont use PDF very much so i have this disabled.I like chrome its very quick and smooth.Only way to use an updated flash player on linux at the moment.
Can you install Chrome on Mint if you are booting Mint with a USB stick and not installed on hard drive? I tried and didn't have any luck. Kubuntu is installed on the hard drive and I found I couldn't get flash to work on either.
The PAPI chrome PDF plugin is in its own sandbox but I use PDF Viewer because it has a search function missing on the built in viewer. This is probably a security tradeoff that I may have to rethink since F3 gives me that search function.
