I'm stumped as to what exactly is blocking Oddee.com articles... I enabled everything in dynamic filtering, but no change unless I disable uBlock for the site.

That because that site is a 100% scam site, all it does when clicking any "article" is trying to open a dozen popups from all kind of other fuzzy scamsites, if you really want to eat all that purple candy, check the "allow popups" in UI on that scamsite.

Right... And I'll take your anonymous words to heart by blind belief.

On a more serious note, I never needed to allow popups to open any of the articles. Those are simply sponsors which they've become greedily reliant upon.

Anyone else with an actual answer?

If you disable cosmetic filtering for the site, articles appear. So there is one or more DOM elements target of cosmetic filters in there which the site make use of to decide whether an article is accessible or not. Note that this is true even when using medium mode, i.e. blocking 3rd-party scripts/frames (at least you can still be well protected to access the silly articles). Tip: block inline-script to further cut down on taboola-like ads.

How do you disable cosmetic filtering for an individual site?

How would I go about creating a rule to block behind-the-scene requests to "favicon.ico" (or more preferred, just "favicon" since it is also referenced when loading up images from postimg - "postimg.org/favicon-16x16.png#-moz-resolution=16,16")? The 16 also appears as 32 and 96 at times...

I can't figure out how to make a global rule, so far only been able to apply a rule per site...

Keep up the phenomenal work, @gorhill, and thank you for everything that you have done for this community and users around the world. I think that you deserve developer status here at Wilders and hope that you receive that sometime. Also, thank you for being an open source developer, in particular. Cheers! :thumb:

Thanks gorhill, I didn't find the documentation for yours.

I couldn't have said it so perfectly. Gorhill president!
Seriously, a fantastic job. Ever since I use uBlock (uBlock Origin, don't waste your time with copies) I eat better, I sleep better, I surf better, I reconciled with smiles and laughs, my life has changed, I'm a new man ... but mainly : I no longer get web pages filled with tons of craps and external calls. What more to wish for?

Your uBlock Origin configuration must be .. misconfigured : I open Oddee.com without any problem (3rd-party frames blocked and with my filters, 1 domain out of 10 connected (oddee.com of course)

EDIT- Make it 2 domains connected : I had to allow ajax.googleapis.com simply to get the top menu unfold... they need to call ajax.googleapis.com, like so many other sites do, when it could be done home-made? I even see sometimes ajax.googleapis.com called when nothing requires it.... Google, Google, Google ... the damn thing is everywhere, that's why I block all Google related by default on uBlock Origin, otherwise it becomes an invasion, like insects, all over the place.

"www.calgarysun.com###popupBox" works well here, it was second in the list offered by the picker (the name was a good hint). What did you try?

Absolutely no dice for me at all :( I even deleted all history, using Easy mode + enhanced security/privacy ublocko on Chromium browser.

    EDIT

I got it! :D I didn't have the option "Parse and enforce cosmetic filters." enabled

    Thanks for your help, gorhill!

Oh yeah, just noticed that. Great news :thumb:

Like to add my congratulations as well on your much deserved "Developer Status". Thanks for the great extension that works excellent both on Palemoon as well as FF.

Yes the main site works fine, but did you check if the articles show up? My rules are pretty vanilla.

I'm using uBlock Origin in Firefox and I have to say it's the best adblocker I've ever used.

@gorhill Congratulations on getting the developer status here in the Wilders forum and thank you for providing us with such an amazing add-on for Firefox. I would ask you to change your avatar. The question mark looks bland.

One question: where does uBlock Origin store count of blocked requests in Chrome. I'm trying Chrome with SBIE and would like to keep this info.
    I already allowed access to
    ... but it didn't help.

EDIT: it looks like statistics is saved it just isn't done continuously.
