    What really concerns me is that the dialog used to justify infringing our privacy is that it helps catch bad people (rapists, child molestors, etc). This article talks about how police are not using existing powerful tools to catch rapists.

    I think this highlights how much of the dialog regarding the need to access private encrypted communications is rubbish.
