I mentioned excluding the Firefox profile folder to make things easier for you. But I don't do that and if I wanted to exclude bookmarks, NoScript and ABP settings from being sandboxed and save them out of Shadow mode, I would exclude the specific files where Firefox saves that information, not the entire folder.

If you mean that you see 6 "places.sqlite" in your Firefox profile folder, you should only have one of them. If you have 6 of them with the exact name, then perhaps would be best for you to create a new Firefox profile, use that one and get rid of the rest.

No not places.sqlite times 6. When I come across a previous bookmark and click the star. I'll read eg: bookmark 6 places.
I did find places.sqliteold and places.sqlitecorrupt that I created back in March when I first noticed bookmark data loss. I've since deleted them. There date modified hadn't changed from March.
A new profile means I'll want to populate with current bookmark backup.

When I click the star I see nothing. If I click the star a second time I see an Edit this bookmark window. I have Classic theme restorer addon, the addon changes the way the star function but thats what I see when I click the star.:)

bjm, I see now what you mean. I see that here as well. I cant explain why that is but I guess its normal and shouldn't affect the way saving bookmarks out of SBIE and shadow mode works.

    Bo, okay.
    prefs.js + patterns.ini + places.sqlite + cookies.sqlite + EXERadarPro as SD Exclude
need cookies for login cookies and ERP for convenience if I bump into an Alert in shadow.
And I can back off from Sandboxie entire Firefox profile folder by Direct Access prefs.js + patterns.ini + places.sqlite + cookies.sqlite
    Hmm, fingers crossed. ;)
Um, just realized that Wilders under Edit This Bookmark notes Remove 5 Bookmarks. I'm sure I have at least 5 Wilders pages bookmarked.

Upgraded to W10 (from W7 64 bits), Firefox 39.0 wont start sandboxed (beta 5.01.2).

No error shown Firefox 39.0 (I see a Werfault in the sandbox).

I've backed off entire Firefox profile folder by Direct Access = prefs.js + patterns.ini.
    Thanks for pointing me....

I never used and I am not familiar with that addon but Its either prefs or perhaps "nosquint@urandom"

Figuring this things out is very easy. After you install the addon or use the addon, navigate via Windows explorer to the sandbox folder and look at the time stamp for files that pertain to the addon. And then you trial and error a little bit until you find the file you need to allow access to. In the case of NoSquint, instead of navigating to the sandbox folder using Windows explorer, I took a look at the sandbox folder via Sandboxie UI and found nosquint@urandom.

I don't know why that is. But I can tell you, I tested NoSquint installing it in a sandbox, the Extensions folder was created by the NoSquint installation.

Oh, the devil in the details :D
Just between us. I'd never looked at Files n' Folders view by Sandboxie Control in an active sandbox.
I didn't know RegHive were there by Windows Explorer view.

Sandboxie is totally non functional here on Win 10. Need to let the good people at Invencia work out the issues. I'm liking Win 10 otherwise and will use it cautiously until SB is functioning again. I understand the Edge browser is not supported by SB as it is a metro app.

I turned off Hitman Pro Alert software compatibility in Sandboxie and FF39 and IE11 are now running normally.

Bo, yea, the Metro apps are a pain, I don't believe they were ever sandboxed in Win 8.1. Win 10 is using Edge somewhere in the background as CCleaner needs to close it to do a cleanup. New OS, new adventures!

I read your post at the SBIE forum about that. Whenever we have an issue runjning any program in Sandboxie, just like unticking Drop rights or running the program with the issue in a new sandbox, ticking off Software compatibility settings is a good place to start when trying to figure out whats causing the problem. Sometimes Software compatibility settings get old and become obsolete and having them on not only doesn't help anymore but actually end up creating issues, like in your case. You did good work figuring out the cause of the problem, Focus.:thumb:

Yea, I'm not sure of the security implications of that little software compatibility checkbox, I reported it over in the HMPA thread this morning so we'll see. I hadn't realized how reliant I had become on SandBoxie for security and privacy until I ran without it for a few hours. All the crud left by Firefox and IE that was normally cleaned up by automatic deletion was sitting there on my disk, a Lot of crud. I'm having printing problems with the sandbox now but Curt is aware of this problem and I'm sure it will get resolved.

If HMPA works fine with Sandboxie without ticking the Software compatibility setting, then you are better off. From Sandboxies POV, you are safer by not ticking the setting.:)
