Yes, my experience is limited to 578/588 and as I recall you run an older version.
I've tried to get comfortable with 578/588 w / wo SBIE. Stripped Bookmarks has been a thorn since day one.
At this point I don't trust SD...if one simple change cannot consistently survive (for me) then...
Suppose, I exclude 0 and commit 0. Is SD working. Will SD work in a critical scenario. Who knows. My only gauge is if every byte survives and I'm not gonna' count bytes.
My must have tools update frequently eg: SBIE. SD does not. All software is flawed. That's understood. So, all programs must update. One versions bugs fix'd in the next. SD 578 bug were not fix'd by 588 (for me).
Sure, from day one if we understood about prefs. I'd be on a different learning curve.
I'm fully cognoscente and accepting and understanding that white room bench tests do not satisfy.
So, I've reported my feedback to SD and ...I'll play with TTF for now.

    Hi everyone,

Just want to ask what version of shadow defender is stable for use with windows 8.1 pro wmc x64 edition?
I ask because I am new in windows 8.1 and I am not sure what version is stable.
I have Shadow Defender v1.4.0.519 that I use before in windows 7 home premium and I also have Shadow Defender v1.4.0.578 but have not tried it. (Just downloaded it before if I need to upgrade).

Or should I use the new Shadow Defender v1.4.0.588? Which of the 3 versions are stable at the moment?
    Thank you in advance.

    Best Regards,
    CJ

Setting the folders up, was that done before entering Shadow Mode or after?

I set the folders up before, but leave the boxes unchecked and leave secure folder off. Once I enter Shadow Mode I check the boxes I want, and activate it.

Just upgraded to windows 10 pro x64. Is SD fully compatible now without any problems?

    Hello,

Excuse my question but is there a problem running Shadow Defender under an SSD or settings like Hybrid Boot ‘fast start-up’, etc? I'm planning on getting this software but before i'd like to clarify this.

    Thanks.

    Hi yeL,

I think SD is okay with Hybrid Boot (On) but if you want to exit shadow mode you must enter SD first then click Exit All Shadow Modes then chose Exit Shadow Mode and reboot. My experience is when I exit shadow mode by not going to SD to exit itself is that when I restart using Win key + x then I'll check SD I am still in Shadow mode. But I think this is normal though.

You can just turn off Hybrid Boot in control panel if you like. Overall SD is great app and I use it since Windows Xp, vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and now 10. Give it a go its awesome. I think you should try the trial of SD first on your machine if it all goes well.

Not sure if this is related to Fast Startup, which only works after a shutdown, not after a reboot.

I keep Fast Startup disabled, mainly because it can cause problems with imaging programs. As I recall, the problem with Fast Startup and SD was that if you enable FS, the system can remain in shadow mode when is powered up after a shutdown, even if you selected "Exit Shadow Mode on Shutdown" when you entered shadow mode.

    Hi sir Robin,
I would agree with you on that. Just tried SD with Fast Startup enabled (I then entered shadow mode) then I tried to exit shadow mode via SD "Exit Shadow Mode on Shutdown" , powered On my machine then checked SD and yup I am still in shadow mode. Full shutdown or a reboot using SD is the same and it has no effect at all. But as you said that if Fast Startup is disabled and enter shadow mode then shutdown or a reboot is all working fine. Thank you sir Robin for the correction. :)

Good tip, didn't knew it had a trial. That seems a good start, going to try it so i can see by myself how it handles on my system.

    Thanks.
