Good Morning! Noob! Come to Canada...if you want truly Expensive and Outrageous Wireless Rates. I before retiring; used to work for Canada's largest Phone Company...so I have a pretty good perspective...on the Canadian Market. I must confess to being a Luddite, I have a land line only...no interest in wireless at all...do mostly to security concerns. And with the price of our Canadian Dollar...bottoming out daily...is it a Luxury you can Afford? I'll stick with my Dinosaur riddled Tech...Lol! All the best Everyone...have a super weekend. Sincerely...Securon

Ting (Sprint MVNO run by Tucows). $6/line, pay for what you use, no bogus fees packaged as taxes and, no carrier locking the bootloader or blocking apps so their bloat can compete!
Their blog is pretty neat and filled with ways to save money. How many carriers teach you how to use their services less than what you need?

It's a case of consumers having a harder time justifying an upgrade when their current ones serve their needs just fine.

Price-conscious consumers in search of new phones (either as a replacement or as a companion) would more likely look at the mid-range offerings (or flagships from smaller/lesser-known vendors).
