Yes, the report is clearly wrong. Appears to be a temporary glitch in VT. One more reason why using VT for any serious testing is a no-go :). I triggered a re-scan now so it should show up properly now.

    Hello Everyone,

We have not checked VT results for the droppers since they should all be detected by major AVs even by their hashes. So, right click scanning with a major AV should be more than enough for detecting the samples.

The real problem here is, it is quite hard to clean an already infected PC as indicated in the report which is the reason it is called "Rootkit Remediation Report".

    Thanks.

You're doing something right if other malware vendors are showing an interest in ZAM...Seems like a keeper :)

Just upgraded to Win 10 and only had a few hiccups. When Windows loaded and checked APPs, it light blue screened with page fault on ZAM64.sys, And that program was uninstalled before the upgrade. HUH?

@boredog Sometimes traces are left behind when you uninstall security software. Using an uninstaller like IObit Uninstaller or Revo helps to uninstall software helps. Also, most security software has specific removal tools, but I don't think there is one for Zemana.

roger_m this tells me the driver was always still running after I uninstalled the program.

@boredog Unfortunately, things like that happen more than you would think. For example a few years ago a laptop I was working on got a BSOD. When I had a look at the dump file, it was caused by component from Spyware Doctor - which must has been causing a conflict with Kaspersky. However, I had uninstalled Spyware Doctor from this computer, probably about two years prior to this.

    Hello everyone,

My name is Ida and I am the Business Development Manager at Zemana. Just joined Wilders and I love it already. :thumb:

I went through some of your comments and questions and this one I could not resit to clarify for you guys. It is in regards to the engines and why we are not showing them anymore in the UI.

We always had more than 6 engines in our multi-engine technology, but eventually we decided to show only the most popular ones. We thought that this was the right way. But while some of our partners were advertised, others were not. Along with that issue there were a lot of misunderstandings when it came to listing the priorities and intentions. We decided not to show the engine lists based on the fact that Zemana AntiMalware is an anti-malware tool, not a tool that should be used for testing which AV engine is performing better than the other and so on. Besides, the rights granted from our AV partners, none AV engine in the world should be clarified as the best or worst, or having better or worse performance than the other. Taking this all into consideration we decided that we should treat all of our partners equally and protect their intellectual property in the equal manner of healthy concurrency.

But the most important reason for removing the engine interface is because we didn’t want to focus our users on the engines, but we rather want to focus users on Zemana AntiMalware, as a quality product which it is.

This interface of engines was shown in the beta version of Zemana AntiMalware with the intent of testing how users are going to react and what is going to attract users more: Our product or the engines? After a while, our research showed us, that the engine interface drew point of user’s interests from our AntiMalware Product towards AV products.

All this didn’t reflect our intention with Zemana AntiMalware from the beginning, however, unfortunately it mislead users towards it, missing the whole point of Zemana AntiMalware as a cloud-based multi-engine scanner. We want our product to be useful and loved by users, not to use only as a testing competition tool.

Our decision to remove the engine user-interface turned out to be the right move from two main points:

1- Protecting partners intellectual properties and treat everybody equally according to legal frameworks of our partnerships.
2- Raising brand awareness of users towards Zemana AntiMalware as an antimalware tool, not a pack of AntiVirus tools.

And I agree with what my colleague Emre said @Emre TINAZTEPE

"To tell the truth, this was what we thought in the beginning but that's not the case right now. Rather than listing the icons of AVs in the User Interface, we have focused on improving the user experience and the power of the product and this will be our main focus from now on. In my own opinion, the value of the product is much more important than the question "All right, how many engines does it use?".

BTW: Emre is on vacation now, so please feel free to contact me, PM me or for any other questions, issues, please feel free to contact: info@zemana.com or support@zemana.com

    and

Stay tuned exciting news coming soon...

    Cheers!

First of all, welcome to Wilders hope you enjoy it here.
I know this thread is for your Antimalware program, but I was wondering if you answer some questions regarding your antilogger.

    http://malwaretips.com/threads/zema...ven-though-it-says-it-does.48965/#post-418894
According to this thread, the antilogger doesn't work well in Windows 10. Have you guys tested the program for Windows 10? Has it been updated recently? I'm asking cause if you look at the changelog here
    https://www.zemana.com/WhatsNew
the latest update was on "Tuesday, December 30, 2014 2:41 PM"

    Btw, any opinion regarding this?

Thank you. And may God bless you.

    Hi,

I can not give you the exact ETA. Emre is on vacation and is clearly not coding :)
I will have to check with our team and I am sure Emre will keep all of you guys posted. But all I can say is that it will not take that long.

    Why hello there :)

Thank you, I am loving it already. Sure can do :)

ZAL (Zemana AntiLogger) is not yet compatible with Windows 10 yet, we are working on it as Windows 10 was not publicly released, it was just like a preview. We do update our products, you can always check when the last update was. And for ZAL it sure wasn't back in December, as the guy says in the thread. It was updated last time June 25th, 2015. You can always check our release notes. Also if you want to update ZAL to the latest version you can do so, I have attached images below just for your info.

Now to reply to your other question.

    http://malwaretips.com/threads/question-about-antilogger-software.49232/

"So my question is can Windows still read the original keystrokes or it can read only the encrypted keystrokes?"

We deliver keystrokes to target application using a secure channel so only target application receives the keystrokes.

You are welcome and God bless you as well!

    Have a great weekend! :)

    Hi Ida,

Great to see you over here at Wilders Security. :)

Have you already heard anything from Zemana's tech team, or perhaps from Emre?

I know nobody asked but just thought I'd share this with you guys in case someone is confused whether or not they are using the latest version of ZAM or how to update to the latest version.

Below is the image on how to update to the latest version:

    Bez naslova.png

Go to the settings tab-the first one in the upper right corner, click on updates and it will tell you what version you have and if there is an update available.

    Cheers :thumb::):);):cool:
