Well, you should switch to Linux :) You'll get the 64-bit version of Firefox, and it's sandboxed if you start it with Firejail. Multi-processing will probably come at the end of the year.

I used to use Linux exclusively for a period of roughly five years, but that was quite some time ago. Although I do have a tremendous amount of respect for OpenWrt and use that in several of my routers and enjoy tinkering and learning with that aspect. :)

I'm running Maxthon (Chromium based multi-process) at the moment with two tabs open and total memory usage for all of the processes is around 400k. Firefox with two tabs open is around 390k. I expect it can vary a fair bit depending on the number of extensions in both browsers, but we're not talking orders of magnitude. Multi-process can add security and stability.

I don't see the need for it, Firefox runs just fine, same goes for older browsers like Opera 12. Try to run 70 tabs with Chrome and then compare it with Opera 12. Opera will use about 1.5 GB of RAM depending on how heavy the sites are, but Chrome will use 4 GB or more.

Every time I run Firefox, even if I restore the image to a clean state I always get a borked MSN page (the images don't look right and the same for Iheart. It's like the control buttons broke) Any idea why? This is with no extension or anything installed.

One thing to check is the zoom level. Sometimes when the zoom level is increased it will mess up the page layout. If you press Ctrl + 0 it will set the page zoom to 100%.

Do you actually keep 70 tabs open at a time? That's a lot to keep track of :) Since you mention tabs one benefit of isolating them is if one crashes it won't bring down the whole browser.

It should however be pointed out that by using firefox on linux there is the slight problem of using an outdated flash player.

That's true, but I almost never see both Firefox and Opera crashing. And I sometimes do have a lot of tabs open, if you look at the screenshot you can see a lot of news items (from ad.nl) and Wilders Security threads that I opened for later reading.

What is the problem with running Adobe Flash Player on Linux. When the new version of Adobe Flash Player comes out, I always update to it. Currently, I am running version 11.2.202.468 which is equivalent to and fixes the latest problems for Adobe Flash Player on Linux.

Whatever news you heard about Linux updates to Adobe Flash Player only pertain the the major version updates, i.e. the version of Linux Adobe Flash Player will never be updated to 11.3 or 11.2.203, but the updates for it will continue for higher numbers of the last field until Adobe Flash Player is totally replaced by HTML5 in the future - as I understand it. Please correct me if I am not correctly informed about this - anyone?

Well, there might not be a perfect transition. You could end up with some sites still running Flash and not having the HTML5 version available in three years' time when Adobe Flash for Linux reaches its end of life.

In this scenario we have two (among other) solutions, either use the Fresh player or simple change the user-agent and view the specific site in it's mobile (HTML5) version. either way good riddance to flash in 3 years, it's nothing but proprietary insecure garbage and deserves to die.

Another alternative will be Shumway. I tested it recently in Nightly and it worked great.

They just won't learn. They need to make Firefox the best Firefox it can be. And they waste time on an OS, on Hello, on Pocket, on this Windows 10 project that is an alternative to Edge which I probably wasn't going to use anyway. Firefox peaked at version 3 and has been going downhill since. Version 37 and up is unstable and still they persist. It's no wonder Chrome is stealing all of their market share. If I didn't hate Chrome more than Firefox I would have already dumped it.

Not here. Firefox is rock-solid for me. Perhaps there is a problem with your profile? Have you tried a new one?

Anyways, heavy improvements are coming to Firefox, notably Electrolysis and (hopefully in the not too distant future) Servo.
