I'm thinking that it was a setting that I was using in Firefox (about:config) and not Adguard. I say this because, I did a fresh/clean install of Firefox and the slowdown was no longer present. I just thought it was Adguard, since the slowdown stopped after disabling it, but I honestly think it was a coincidence. Sorry for jumping in too quickly in assuming that the problem was Adguard, I should have looked into it a little more before posting.
Bought Adguard through BitDuJour yesterday but have not received a licence yet. How long does this normally take?
Should be done immediately. They have a pool of license keys and should have sent you one directly. If they didn't do it I guess it's better to contact them. Also if your AG trial is expired, I can generate a temporary license for you. Just PM me to get the key.
Please Please put extra attention to UI and UX Windows 10 is coming and it is free and everyone going to install it so the UI and UX of Adguard should match the system style with flat and not 3d icons and shiny also bigger button for touch friendly will be nice
v6 has completely new UI. Flat, bigger buttons, more like modern UI. There is a video somewhere on previous pages
We've just released Adguard for Windows 5.10.2051. I hope this is the last time we were updating v5 Changelog: Added Microsoft Edge browser support Improved userscripts API speed Fixed a bug with saving Adguard Assistant settings Userscripts API usage is now restricted by @grant metatag Fixed Adguard Assistant work in Opera 12 Fixed certificate automatic import in Opera 12 Fixed some issues with CSS/JS injection for pages with invalid HTML code Fixed issues with SSL interceptor (connections reset for servers working with TLS 1.0 only) Fixed Logjam (Adguard now does not filter connections with weak DH primes) Fixed a bug with update cleaning Adguard's start menu folder Fixed SSL-filtering in old browsers (IE6, IE7) Important notice about Logjam. We do not protect you from it, just ignore such connections. Browser decides what to do with it further. So make sure you are using the latest version of your browser.
Windows metro apps. The apps used on a tablet. Right now it currently doesn't block ads in windows metro apps.
Here is the reply I got off the direct adguard forum. http://forum.adguard.com/showthread.php?5952-AdGuard-doesn-t-block-ads-in-Windows-8-1-Metro-apps-(
https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/do-you-use-host-to-block-metro-ads.376875/ In my experience, it worked fine.
It filters metro/modern apps perfectly fine, you just have to manually add the specific app's executable under Browsers section.
AG can block ads in modern UI apps. The problem here is with detecting proper app process. You see, modern apps may be "distributed", web requests could be sent from another process. Anyway, in v6 we plan to make adding modern app much simpler than it is now.
v6 alpha will be available this month, 1-2 weeks from now. Current status: 1. We have 28 open bugs 2. The app is not yet translated
Alpha, not Beta? Are you going to spread alpha build publicly? Usually alphas are intended only for internal testing. Just curious.
Heh, alpha is like very buggy beta We will announce it for beta testers on our forum, maybe here as well.
