hi may i ask a question about Secure data wiping on SSDs? is it like a reset ? how much does it take to wiping an ssd ? secure wipe of parted magic takes 1 or 2 seconds thanks
Secure wipe is internal to the drive, sent by an ATA command. cf. http://www.kingston.com/us/communit...SSD-Data-Wiping-Sanitize-or-Secure-Erase-SSDs Personally, I'd only be comfortable with the ACE Hardware method...hammer, tin snips, et. al.
Internal Secure Erase is a function on the drive triggered by a command sent to it; it doesn't matter what sends the command, the outcome is the same.
