Likely some anti-exec blocking msiexec.exe or some other part of Windows Installer process. You have to create a rule in whichever anti-exec program you use or temporarily disable it during upgrade.
@avatar I've been experiencing some browsing slowdown, while Adguard Premium is enabled. I disabled Adguard temporarily to see if it could be the problem and indeed browsing seemed a lot more snappier after doing so. Do you have an idea what could be causing this within' Adguard? I am on Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit, in case it helps
I always have that option unchecked. I'm starting to think it might be something between Firefox and Adguard Premium, because when I use Google Chrome with Adguard Premium, I get no browsing slowdown...Same goes for Internet Explorer.
Hmmm, interesting, thank you for that tip. I appreciate it *UPDATE* - For some reason, enabling this feature actually slowed thing's down for everything (Windows 8.1). I disabled it and am back to the default (No WFP network driver).
I am just trying out Adguard but it does not seem to work with one of the browsers I use, namely Otter Browser http://sourceforge.net/projects/otter-browser/ Just wondering if it is incompatible with Adguard?
If you're using Adguard Premium (Desktop), do the following. Go to: Settings > Browsers and Click on the "Add a browser button..." From there, locate the otter-browser executable to add to Adguard. Once finished, you should be able to surf otter-browser with Adguard. Let us know if this works
That's strange as it should be just the opposite. WFP driver is intended to improve filtering on Win 8 and newer. @avatar's assistance is needed in this case.
I went ahead and re-enabled it and oddly enough, it didn't reproduce the issues that I had previously. I'll leave it enabled and keep an eye on it's behavior.
https://kb.adguard.com/index.php?/K...View/54/0/connection-is-not-trusted---firefox Temporarily disable SSL filtering so that you can view that help page.
Also depends on if you have modified security.ssl3.xxxxx settings in about:config ... if you haven't, then WBD's comment is enough.
@avatar I just wanted to let you know that I have confirmed that my earlier problem with Outlook.com status switching from Invisible back to Available is not a problem with Adguard or a problem with Adguard's filter rules. So no worries on your end, this is something on Microsoft's end possibly. The reason why I thought that it might be Adguard is because I have only been using Adguard recently and this problem only started occurring recently as well. But that must have been just a coincidence. They must have made some changes on Outlook.com back end recently because this is happening to me even without Adguard installed.
I hope so. They have announced that in future Edge will provide an SDK for add-on developers very similar to Chromium's one.
@TyRizian, @pegas WFP is newer technology, but it still has some bugs which can lead to incompatibilities with some AV software. TDI is old, but stable.
