third party giveaway contest sites are rouge...anyone can post anything...wild wild web....read their Term and Conditions > In no event will Tipradar.com be liable for everything under the sun and then double that.
Tipradar business is to direct web traffic.
<<All giveaways and contest hosted or shared by Tipradar.com are authorized by vendors / developers.>> I'll bet otherwise.

A search on this thread for the word 'engine' shows this topic has been discussed as far back as 2013 when two engines were being used and users were discussing the possibility of adding other engines to complement Bitdefender and Kaspersky.

Emsisoft used to be another engine HitmanPro used, but since Emsisoft switched one of their dual engines from Ikarus to Bitdefender, it makes no sense for HitmanPro to use two Bitdefender engines so Emsisoft was dropped.

I'm sure if there is a new engine added, it would be announced here and on the official website.

NB: I know their site still mentions the use of 5 AV vendors as well as a screenshot for version 3.5 when it's now at 3.7. That should've been changed long ago, but I guess the developers have been too busy working on their product to make that change.

I have Panda Antivirus 2015 on one of my computers. Hitman Pro identifies the file PandasecurityDX.dll as malware. Is this a known issue, that is, a false positive? Or what?

The scan finished, the file was quarantined, and the computer needed to be restarted to completely remove the file. Upon reboot, Panda came back operating as usual. The removal of the file did nothing to the operation of Panda. Maybe it was a bad file, but Panda never detected it.

    Hi Erik,

I am running the beta version as I am typing this now and it is still scanning and has finally finished at 15 min 27 seconds.
Something has changed a few builds ago as the scan times used to be around 1.5 minutes and all my other security programs run fine and scan very fast.

This is a new system running windows 7 64bit on a Samsung 850 evo ssd with 8gb ram and a i5-4690k.

Have you tried reinstalling an old version 234 or 238 and rescanning? I noticed that you're scanning an additional 13K+ files. If you watch the gui what file(s) does it hang on?

Unfortunately Hitman Pro scans do not complete and get stuck at Classifying 99% newer versions too. I am running Windows 7 64bit with 3.7.9 Build 240 64bit and version 3.7.9 Build 241 64bit. More than 15 minutes. It used to be max 1.5 minutes. It can only run when I turn off the "Scan for Malware Remnants" option!

I've written in the past and I sent documentation (I showed pictures). Do you have any information about it?

W7-x64 Prof. with HitmanPro 3.7.9 beta b242 runs without problems.

Scan time seems to be a bit lower, from ~2m30sec in b241 to ~2m10sec in b242

I experienced the 99% stall in HMP for while, hanging on some random dll in SysWOW64. It happened when I was testing HMP.A which I uninstalled when I settled on using MBAE Premium. (No, I didn't test HMP.A and MBAE concurrently.)

I cleaned out HMP.A uninstaller residuals, in the registry and hmpnet.sys & hmpalert.sys, manually disabled and deleted.

Now I get through HMP scans 100%. This is not to infer causality, but simply to report the encounter.

BTW, that's the only problem I've ever experienced with HMP in the years I've been using it.

And while we're at it, excellent (as always) performance...

I disabled hmpnet.sys & hmpalert.sys manually (HitmanProScheduler and hmpalertsvc), but not helped.

Hi guys, I saw today Slimcleaner got detected for delete by HMP, is there something we should now?

Edit: BTW, false positive, Sugarsync is detected as a Trojan.
