What a constructive comment for the thread

Its good but avast and bitdefender are better imo in terms of features as well as protection

Yes it is good. I have tried most out there and have stuck with Eset. I say give it a try, you just might like it.

Just install, configure anti-theft if you like and you're good to go.

the one thing i dont like about the free eset is you have to update it manually. in order to get the auto updates you have to pay. otherwise its excellent. i also can recc avira i use it on a few mobile devices and it does auto update. im not a fan at all of the bitdefender myself

No - that won't work. If you have a family protection pack, now known as ESET Multi-Device Security, you get it all - but buying ESSH doesn't give you EMDS

USA still the best. But barely.
I'm using Sophos. It got very high rankings for use on Androids.

well that stinks. i actually bought 3 when newegg just had them on sale and i had not seen them so i contacted newegg and they never shipped them because they ran out. so my order was cancelled. i was waiting for the 5+5 ones they had on sale this month. really ticked off about that. guess it will be avira on all my mobile devices then.

On rooted tablet I've been using Avast because it has a firewall. Also used it together with DrWeb.
On unrooted phone I used DrWeb. I stopped using it after installing the GreyShirts No-root firewall which showed that DrWeb was, in addition to its own server, connecting to some analytics-type server other than DrWeb's own, yandex something or other and few other russian addresses. Actually Avast does something similar I think.
I switched over to free Sophos and it's very nice, quiet and convenient. MalwareBytes and Maxthon with ABP seem to coexist quite well.

I have had great luck with Sophos and Adguard Beta which has a firewall that works on unrooted phones.

    I like Sophos too.
Free & clean software with good security features.

But when I install on my cousin cell that has I guess KitKat 4.4, other AVs when detect malware, there is AVs detection window with options like quarantine/ignore, etc...
But with Sophos, when it detect malware I get window like open with sophos/open with file manager, etc... Why I dont get directly the AV detection window quarantine/ignore with Sophos?

Do you get Sophos detection alert directly?

I received a free 2-year license for ESET Android and I like it a lot; it seems more lightweight than Avast.
