    I wonder why there is no changelog. Lots of updates recently. I'd suggest they join forces with Adcleaner :p

    I ran this new version and it found and deleted some things. After googling one of the folders it appears it is one created by PC Doctor. A program that came installed on my Dell. Is this a bad program?

    Hello boredog:

    I have only limited knowledge of Thisisu's JRT, but theoretically, couldn't the developer have added the Dell version of PC-Doctor to JRT's database perhaps as a perceived PUP?

    Because JRT leaves no quarantine, only a recent backup of your W8.1 system would afford you the opportunity to independently evaluate the JRT deleted folders/files/tasks. I too have deleted the unwanted Dell installed PC-Doctor additions long ago from my system with no ill effects.

    I am sorry I could not help you further. :(

    @boredog PC Doctor is a safe program, and one which some people will find really useful due its hardware testing. The fact that JRT automatically deletes anything it detects without even showing first what is going to be deleted, is a big problem, and is why I don't use JRT.

    AdwCleaner usually detects things I want to keep, but at least you get to view the scan results and deselect anything you want to keep, before quarantining anything.

    @EASTER I don't know. It could be quite a useful tool it were not for the automatic deleting.

    @roger_m, post

    Well agreed it is proven somewhat fairly useful in the purpose intended (especially online pc security helpers) that it clears out (junkware) by definition and makes for more speedier addressing of posters with malware issues. Of that intent theres little argument. Maybe somewhere in the daisy chain of new releases it'll be updated (again) to allow reviewing like most cleaners offer (then again maybe not).
