Did Qihoo 360 pull out for cheating? I would like to see their real results? No doubt it will still be excellent except that it will have higher FP despite them cheating.

They are suspended from the AV-C public main-test series for this year.

I mentioned it to the AV-C twitter acct a while back and it was fixed and worked fine without me disabling local IPv6 for a while. Why have AAAA records for the site if it's not working correctly?

EDIT: I guess it's just Wordfence that doesn't support IPv6. Maybe it was disabled for a while and that's why pages loaded for me til recently. I can access the report, since it appears that plugin only protects php stuff and not content in the wp-content directory.

Actually, MBAM real-time does the same thing; block the entire site if dodgy downloads are present. Maybe that's why they don't participate in AV-C's tests?

Recently came across an excellent example of why a site should be blocked. VT rated the site 1/57 but multiple dodgy downloads existed. Sucuri said the site was clean. HerdProtect rated site 98% malicious. And Zulu rated it 100/100 malicious; a rating I had never before received from Zulu.

-EDIT- I need to elaborate here. The above web site was caught by Eset's web filter PUA blacklist i.e. domain or IP address. This alerted me to investigate further.

Note that PUA checking is set off by default in Eset. Once set on, it functions identical to Emisisoft's PUP checker. The PUP filter in Emsisoft is set to "alert" by default.

Note that Eset had zero FPs in this latest test; most likely due to its default settings.

Here we go with the "apples and oranges" configuration issue and how it impacts AV lab testing. The only way AV software can be fairly evaluated is if all configurations are the same. It also makes one suspect that AV default settings are influenced more by expected AV lab results versus actually ensuring the product protects a user's PC from crapware.

Yes, it has recovered its top ranking status it had some years ago, even though it had a period of not so stellar results, detection has always been reliable for the average user.

Going into my 6th year with it. The longest I've stayed with one product. I used to change every 5 years on average.

Real time detection is the same as it uses 'Avira Protection Cloud'. I think the difference is the absence of the web protection (Drive by protection). Instead the free version has 'Safe Browsing' which is a browser extension that blocks harmful websites.

IMO it makes sense to test the Pro version as people who intend to buy it, certainly want to see some tests. The free one might not be as effective for web detection and therefore may not score well in tests (I'm not sure though).
