Avira Command Line Scanner ScanCL (Windows)

Hello,

@anyone using/used Avira ScanCL:

1. I see it hasn't been updated for approx. 2 years. Is it still relevant?

2. Is it complemented by Avira Fusebundle Generator, or how does the database gets updated?

3. Is it "scriptable"? I mean, can i script/schedule its database's updates + script/initiate a completely custom scan (preferably for removable media)?

 

Haven't used it for quite a while but from what I remember
1-It should be
2-Updates to the signatures and engines were made via fusebundle gen.
3-It didn't have scheduling directly but you should be able to do it via task scheduler.

PS: You needed a license key to initiate scan. Lincense key from free Avira was enough, don't know if it's still the case.

If Avira free license will suffice for the command line scanner, how would one get the license without installing the full program? I'm interested in trying the command line utility
