We are pleased to announce the release of SecureAPlus version 3.3.5.

Now the offline antivirus setting is independent from Universal AV. User can disable Universal AV without disabling the offline AntiVirus.
We have upgraded ClamAV engine to v0.98.7. The detail of the changes can be found at the following url: http://www.secureaplus.com/Main/secureaplus_releasenote.php

its maybe a case for lawyers (which I am not), so let's just say that the following is not a false positive:
    ...\SecureAPlusNoAVSetup_v3.3.5.exe » NSIS » UniversalAVService.exe - a variant of Win32/SecureAge.A potentially unwanted application

I'm going to take a wild guess based on the detection name and say it was Eset.

I'm trying the compact whitelist feature and it's extremely slow to delete the entries (I selected the fast mode) after 30 mins is still at 1%.
Is there a way to compact the whitelist quicker? or could you fix this?

On the other hand, could you please give us a hint about what's going on with the development? what's next?

The process of compacting whitelist is basically similar to rewhitelist. Compact whitelist will check the entries, if there is no more physical file that associated to the hashes, it can safely delete the entry.
This process is quite complex because in the whitelist database we never stored the location of the file. More than that, during compacting whitelist, there is always a possibility that there are new whitelist entries added, for example if Windows is performing update at the background. So compacting whitelist has to be able to handle add and delete whitelist entries at the same time.

Just a little update on the development, we are in the process of designing a new UI for SecureAPlus.

SecureAPlus does not specifically targeting on web exploit. If the exploit has an executable payload, SecureAPlus can prevent the harmful payload from running.

We have just released SecureAPlus v3.3.7.
In this version we fixed the issue with the manual scanning when the offline antivirus is disabled.

What is the difference between universal av and offline? Do they use the same engines? Is one cloud and other signature based?

Offline uses ClamAV, while UAV uses over 12 engines on the cloud.

You can read more on their website

I have a quick question...My winpatrol alerted me that everything stopped loading at startup (I had it installed before SAP was installed) will SAP be affected if it's not running on startup?

If so, do I just add everything back to startup from (C:\Program Files\SecureAge\Everything.exe)?

You can try to re-install SecureAPlus on top of the existing installation. SecureAPlus installer should be able to recover this. Don't worry, you do not need to re-whitelist if you just re-install on top of your existing installation.
