Sorry, I haven't got a chance to scour MR 6 thread, but could anyone who has the knowledge/experience be so kind to summarize: in light of all the good things that the current AX64/AXTM has to offer, how does MR 6 stack up?

It stacks up very well. Its restore times are very fast and of course MR is very well respected and reliable. It is def more complex to set up than AX64/TM, in fact a number of MR users have asked for assistance in setting up a snapshot schedule like that of AX64/TM.

I have both programs and am using them both. I am using MR v6 to do daily snaps, both differential and incremental (differential weekly, incremental daily) and I am using AX64/TM as my hourly snapshot program. The reason for this is that in my case I am finding that the time it takes MR v6 to do a backup (snapshot) of similar sizes, can vary dramatically (ie, 1 gig snap can take on the low side a few min to complete but then another 1 gig snap can take 45 min to complete). Also, for some reason my PC slows down dramatically when snaps are being taken.

I would strongly suggest you give MR v6 a try as I seem to be the only one with these problems,,,,,,,and even I,,,,with the problems,,,,,find the program to be excellent and am very happy to have it (and AX64) on my PC.

Barry, first they need a reliable working product. That has yet to be delivered. Then they have to figure out how to market. Going all the way back to day one they haven't had a clue how to market it. Do some math. Say you have 3 people working at minimum salary. Say they only have to cover $120,000 a year. At $30 a copy that is 4000 copies a year. Who are they going to sell them to. Most of the really less tech savy folks don't even see the need to use an imaging program. Just go to any av site and check on their forum where they help folks remove virus's. ALl of there problems could be solved with imaging, but they don't.

I wish they could succeed, but I no longer see it happening

Never knew that... I'll look into that especially when Windows 10 arrives.

Runs circles around it. Just go scour that MR6 thread. I get all the AXTM benefits without the limitations caused by the tracking file. No Perfect Disk problems. etc

I understand what you are saying but I am not entirely sure you are correct. I recommended RX64 to 5 friends who I had tried to get to backup their PCs for years. I would set various programs up for them and then find out months later that they were not using them. Of the 5 I recommended the program to 4 bought it and still have it running without issue. Of course for them its just a "for emergency only" program so they are not doing a lot of restores but at least, in a worst case scenario, they will be able to do a cold restore to a state that is not more than (unless they want more than) 1 hour old. They installed and setup the program themselves and I have not once in the apx year since these were installed, have had to rush over to their homes to try and fix a mess of a PC.

I do def agree however that if they cannot provide a reliable product then they are probably not going to last too much longer. I have not been recommending AX64 to others and will not do so until they solve the various problems with the program. Still, AX64 has a place on my PC and I use it regularly. I have not had a failed hot restore in quite some time now (not since I upgraded to the last version of V1).

Thanks , I asked because I remember there was a temp folder on their website or something like that which contains many builds , and maybe some of them beta or test builds .. Anyway I got it now , and if there is another newer build (maybe a test build to fix a problem) it will be nice to have a link to it also .

The link was for the absolute last build of version 1. Anything after that, beta or official, was for version 2. There is supposed to be a new v2 beta(?) released soon but as of this moment its not available to the general public.

    Dear Wilders Folks,

We're working on a new release and we have a number of users testing a non-public beta. If you wish to use it, do send us an e-mail to info@ax64.com and we'll send you a private link.

Our developers are working a lot closer with our users this time round. Some of you may be quite familiar with Iurie, one of our brightest developers. He is doing his best talking with users and debugging problems everyday. Isso is also working on the project and we anticipate he'll be popping in here again in the near future.

We understand AX64 has had its fair share of downs and we thank the Wilders community for coming along for the ride. Many of our users here have lost hope in the app, but we do see many folks who hope we succeed. We have a big task ahead, but we're working on it intimately with users, and we hope to deliver something to you guys that 'just works'. Nothing we say or do right now will be good enough for you guys or ourselves until we deliver on that goal.

Lastly, we prefer you e-mail info@ax64.com for your inquiries and feedback - as we aren't always monitoring the Wilders forums.

Thank you all for your patience and encouragement.

    Wajamus

Thank you for this post. I have a family pack v2 license, and I'm still using it for my casual backup purposes.

The PRIVATE BETA (Build 608 <Build 604 was very bad>) is working out fairly well at this time. I will be doing more extensive testing as time permits.

It's good to see Waj and Co. back on the scene... I hope it leads to excellent results with their product. GO, Iurie... GO!

    Hi Waj

I just gave 612 a try and it was a bust. Hot restore turned off, and warm restore failed, plus it messed up some system stuff.

Wajamus, thank you for popping up and informing us.
This was kinda great news, and also great to hear Isso is still part of the team!
To be honest, I had almost also lost all hope for this software and thought the
    development is dead..
I have a paid license aswell.
    Thumbs up and high-five.
