I've tried that. Wouldn't work. Tried to have it sent to every email account I've used in the last 10 years. It said they were all invalid. o_O

In that case, if you want access to your account you could email Tony Weiss and have him check on it for you.

Thanks. I've exchanged email with him in the past but lost his address.

Checking it out, so far so good. Not able to login with my account however. Do you need another account just for beta?

I've just upgraded to the beta in the hope it would solve two issues I'm expriencing with regard to excluding files. However the issues persist with the beta installed. I have just created a thread about it on Norton's beta forum in the hope that the issues can be resolved.

I can't give you an official time frame but my guess is soon.

So I ran Live Update to install this piece of junk. It prompted for a restart, so I did. By the fourth restart I gave up and uninstalled it. Maybe I should reinstall my MBAM Pro and make more extensive use of Sandboxie and just run without these junky suites.

Warning! Don't update yet until Norton fixes this crap update. I am in a Norton restart loop with this update. I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

I have restarted six times so far, and with the same results the picture I posted. And I have no virus protection. Was this update even tested by Norton...I don't think so.

I was having issue with certain programs, like Chrome, taking several minutes to open. I couldn't figure out what was causing the issues. I finally uninstall Norton Security, and have not had the issue since.

Update to my previous post #391.

I let my computer sit and idle about 10 minutes while the computer was still in the Norton restart loop. Norton autofix pops up, and I ran that, and I am right back to the restart loop. Norton is not running in system tray, and clicking on Norton icon does nothing either.

Action center says that Norton spyware protection is turned off, and the antivirus is turned on.

I just closed the Restart Required window (right click the taskbar button) and then uninstalled. It leaves me with nothing but I can reinstall later or install something else. Or run with nothing. But it stops you from having to restart again.

Ran the Norton InstStub.exe from the previous version Progam files/Norton Installer, and it uninstalled without issue. The InstStub.exe for 22.5 was there too, but that was the one causing all the problems. Logged in Norton account, removed license, downloaded and installed, and everything is ok now.

This is way too much hassle to go through.

Yup that's basically what I did once I learned that the 22.5 update was a failure.

From what I can gather at the moment, do not use the Norton uninstall tool to remove the botched update because that can cause other problems.

Shouldn't be necessary. It removes from Add/Remove Programs just fine. Then after the reboot that followed, I used the Removal Tool and that also worked fine. No issues here, other than deciding if I want to go back to Kaspersky or find another solution.

If it's true from what I read earlier this morning about the programming in India now, then I will definitely will be looking else where. I am not saying that they can't program in India. What I am saying is that I thought I bought and paid for an American made program.

Assume this is just for the beta?
