Disregard my last post. I just read the last several pages of this thread, and I have a clear picture of Ublock's current status AFAIK.

Is it safe to say that Ublock is going to be continued for Firefox? uBlock is on AMO and I believe it is reasonable to say it will be continued for Firefox. As you probably know uBlock Original is at this time not available on AMO even if its developer, GorHill, has stated his decision to publish uBlock Origin on AMO. uBlock Origin is the original uBlock code developed, maintained and updated by GorHill (this very thread has been initiated by him), while uBlock on AMO started when uBlock 0.9.3.0 was "handled" to another developer.

At this time, I do hope uBlock Origin will be available on AMO, together with the split branch, uBlock. Looks complicated? It may as long as one ignores the insights of the story, as I do.

I forgot to mention that if I really hope that uBlock Origin will be available on AMO it is also because of the announced Mozilla to require add-ons to be signed in the future. Should uBlock Origin not be signed (available on AMO) I have no idea of its future availability on the Firefox browser, since uBlock Origin and uBlock (on AMO now) have different signatures.

What does AMO stand for? I keep seeing it in the thread, but missed it's meaning.

Edited 4/24 @9:24: Does it mean Add-ons Mozilla. Org?

I let the whole thing rest after today, will keep on using gorhill's repo since contrary to the big words stated by the other "developer", gorhill has added quite a few good additions, while the now "official" ublock has seen nothing more than 3rd party additions by others, and a whole lot of readme.md "changes" mostly ripping the feathers of Gorhill's hat and putting them on his own, nothing positive about the addon itself has been done since the takeover. It's all about the donations, and these are my final words about it.

Respect and trust are earned not given, and GorHill has done so in buckets...He clearly has integrity and I will continue to use his version of ublock too.

gorhill's new 0.9.5.1-dev0 build now also reports cosmetic filters in the logger. An important improvement!

Agree. Great news. Have just been over to the AMO site and posted my view point. Hope others do as well.

With version 0.9.5, is the default now to automatically "save" temporary dynamic filtering rules unless they're manually deleted/removed -- or have I misunderstood something?

Can anyone help me with this one? Are Temporary Rules no longer automatically discarded just by closing your browser (unless, of course, they were saved)?

On Firefox, at least for me, temporary rules are discarded after a browser restart.
    (Firefox nightly v40, uBlocko 0.9.5.1)

I've just tested on this very site, enabling 3rd-party frames for wildersecurity.com (even if it does not apply here: no 3rd-party frame at the horizon!) when set by me otherwise as disabled.
Kept it temporary, restarted Firefox : the rule had been discarded -> no change.
I admit that, having several matters to take care of, I don't always have the time to follow latest uBlock Origin enhancements, even if GorHill (the developer for those who ignore it) did mention that he'd be cautious with modifications/enhancements : obviously he is aware of the dangers of bloating . I must spare time nevertheless for staying tuned. By the way latest enhancement with uBlock Origin 0.9.5.x with the Color-blind friendly option is most appreciated, and not only because I am concerned (or maybe so?!) but I think (imagine) it is also nicer for everyone... :)

This post is in regards to Palemoon browser. As most Palemoon users know, the uBlock icon was not showing in Palemoon. This is an update for that problem.
Have download the Legacy Toolbar Button Test from here https://github.com/AlexVallat/uBlock/releases/tag/0.9.3.5-dev-av.1 and uBlock icon is now showing. Followed the instruction in about:config and am using Dynamic filtering which seems to be working with request blocks showing along with continuous count of blocks since install working too. Element blocker is working as well. Notice the icon at the top right corner. :)

It was pretty short-sighted of me to not consider I was maybe dealing with a kid (ok a teenager but from my perspective he is a kid).

I had somehow never considered this, in which case I have no problem calling out full grown adults when I believe there is misrepresentation going on. This is the kind of things that can get me fired up, I spend years on a web site trying to help expose that crazy religion, just because the misrepresentations (to say the least) were really motivating me to try to help and do something about it.

But when it's a kid, it's obviously not the way to deal with this. Going forward I am unsure what to do.

As far as I'm concerned, to the length of what has been publicly expressed, in regard to your "Maintainership transfer of uBlock: post mortem" bill, I have not the feeling of a whatever overreaction. You stated facts, not emotions, not emotions first, you stated your truth which was based on facts not on feelings, facts everyone has had the possibility to observe, to note.

Now, the "kid" may seem vulnerable and hurt as he's written it, and maybe that makes you wonder if you've taken the story the right way. Yes you have. Two categories of persons cry, that of innocent and that of guilty. But they don't cry for the same reasons.

We are many, gorhill, many to appreciate your work, talent, commitment and honesty. Don't worry, I think (and I think this is shared by many), I think you've done things the right way.

EDIT- Hum, I forgot to mention what we all know and what most of us disapprove, that the Web is a huge place where buzz, hate and hysteria often let themselves go. But it's not a point one can take into consideration when his aim is only to recover from an assault by the means of defense : it is not because my offender may be offended once the truth reestablished that I should shut up : we don't have that responsibility.
This said, I would and will be the first to defend anyone, innocent as guilty, once the mass starts spitting and hating him. No place for haste, and I've read none on your part, gorhill.

The beat goes on... that of music, what else? :)
