Looks pretty nice, but its available in only EU for now. Maybe there will be more such phones by next year and price will fall down a bit too.
It is way overpriced for the specs. You can buy Android phones with the same screen size (or bigger), and a 50% faster processor for half the price. But of course, then you have a phone running Android, and not Ubuntu.

@Daveski17 Pricey? Maybe not. But it is overpriced for what you get. For the same price, you can get a much faster phone (faster than a Galaxy S5) with a 64 bit processor, much bigger screen, 2GB RAM (the extra gig of RAM will also make it faster), 16GB ROM, higher resolution camera and running Android Lollipop.
I could have bought a laptop running Win 8.1 with 8Gb RAM & a 3Ghz CPU for 250 quid. Instead I paid £400 for a Levono with 4 Gb RAM, 2.4 Ghz with Ubuntu. I'm sure you could buy cheaper Android phones than the Aquaris or with more features for the same price, but it doesn't mean they are better quality. I'm not really sure what your point is. If you don't like Ubuntu, don't buy the phone.
@Daveski17 It's a Lenovo phone, so I can only presume that the quality is just as good as the Aquaris phone. My point was just regarding the price. I know nothing about Ubuntu's mobile OS so can't make any other observations.
I don't have a Lenovo phone, I have a Levono laptop preinstalled with Ubuntu. My point was; I could buy a cheap laptop with much more power with Windows preinstalled. I didn't. The Ubuntu Aquaris is competitively priced for what it is, in fact it appears to be slightly cheaper than the Android Aquaris. Both seem good value to me. I'm sure you could buy a cheaper made phone with more power or speed. The Ubuntu Aquaris doesn't seem overpriced to me. There again, I'm not Carphone Warehouse.
You didn't want to buy the cheaper & install Ubuntu yourself? You could have made a donation to Ubuntu/Linux if that was a factor.
No, I wanted a laptop that I knew was compatible with Ubuntu. I know from experience that not all hardware is compatible. I could of had a beautiful Samsung laptop virtually made to my own specs with no OS preinstalled at all relatively cheaply. But there was no guarantee of hardware compatibility. At the end of the day, I needed a new laptop and I didn't want Windows. I was already familiar with Trusty Tahr so it was a logical choice.
@NGRhodes The phone is a Lenovo K3 Note. The link is for purchasing it from China. I just had a very quick look on Google and eBay showed no UK retailers selling it. Of course buying products from China becomes a problem if you have issues and then need to send the phone back to China to be repaired. However, for the price, the specifications are incredible. Large screen, 1080p resolution, really fast processor, 2GB RAM, Android Lollipop, decent amount of internal storage space, 4G support, quad band 3G, etc. I plan to buy one soon. The only downside I can see is that the screen has no scratch protection. But, tempered glass screen protectors, and a variety of cases are available for it.
Well, it's a lot more affordable than an Apple phone. The cheapest iPhone I can find is £539. I could buy a half decent second-hand car for that lol.
