The question was raised, does v6 work on Windows 10, so....

    in a Windows 10 build 100049 VM I tested.

    1. Installed Latest Build of v6. Worked fine
    2. Created Rescue ISO and installed in Windows 10 Bootmgr. Worked fine
    3. Created an image to the VM 2nd hard drive Worked fine
    4. Did an auto restore where it boots into Bootmgr RE Worked fine

I didn't test any schedule functions.

Just bought v6 Home Edition and getting ready to get it up and running in the next few days. One question... I don't plan to do any differential or incremental images. Is there any advantage to using the boot manager if you only deal with full disc or partition images? I'm thinking no...

As there are many MR6 users here I would like to get answers to these questions. Does the MR6 boot disk provide for backup in addition to restoring? If it does, is there an option to do a sector-by-sector backup?

The BOOTmgr option provides speed in getting to the Macrium UI for restoration purposes. For imaging... no real advantages.

It provides for FULL backup only, all restoration options which include Bare Metal Restore (BMR) to different hardware (called reDeploy)
As Pete has responded... it sure does!

As Pete and froggie allready responded it does....
But why would anyone buy V6 if he wants to perform offline sector per sector backup? o_O

Yes agreed. The free version would be enough for that purpose.

Hey guys, I was actually interested in the free edition of v6 when it becomes available (but I guess for my purpose the free edition of v5 would probably do the job just as well)! ;)

I just got asked if I wanted to make a recovery disk again.
This is long after I made one. o_O

One elementary question I only recently thought about! When restoring (v6, not that it really matters) an incremental, a text box comes up asking if you want to use Windows PE/Files. I've only ever chose to do that. What happens if you don't? Thank you!

You have to manually reboot and choose your recovery environment. Still can use the boot menu if you want. It just kills the automatic stuff.

To clarify my good friend with the dog (or is that a small horse? )...

If you have REFLECT installed in your BOOTmgr (local BOOT), you will be offered the option to use "Automatic BOOT" during your LIVE restoration process followed by "Run from Windows PE." If it's not installed, that CheckBox option won't be available. That being said, if the local BOOT option is in place and you choose to deselect it in the process, the only thing that changes about the process is that Reflect will not set that BOOTmgr option as the DEFAULT for the next BOOT (that's what gets you in there "automatically"). The entire restoration process is also set up automatically and will occur if you BOOT with any Reflect Recovery Media, even if you select it manually in your BOOTmgr.

Since the "Run from Windows PE" button is the only way out of that dialogue except CANCEL, no restoration process will be set up for automatic restoration if you CANCEL out or Close... "Run from Windows PE" is the only way on to an automatic restoration of any kind.

Thank you Pete and Frog. Speed wise, AX and v6 are about the same now. It seems to me that Reflect does a few "Close/Open" gyrations but if using AX v2 you need to do the Advance>Hot Restore>etc. thing, so things balance out! I lovem both! I have a slow, inexpensive ASUS laptop that I think I'll install AX v1 with such license. I may have to contact AX support to get that to work. Thinking just removing the v1 application from this PC won't be enough!

Just take your existing INSTALLER and its LICENSE and put it on your new machine... it'll work just fine. If you have a problem, lemme know.

I'm not sure if someone has mentioned that before but please let me get this straight - if I buy Macrium Workstation and I'm not going to upgrade it in the future that means I won't be able to use it after one year or simply by not upgrading it I agree to use my current (6) version (same as it would be with Home User)?

Reminder (for those still on the fence)...

    Macrium says... "Introductory Price ($68 ) ends 30th April 2015. Full price from 1st May 2015 will be $75 USD / €74 Euro / £53 GBP.

...and this 20% OFF coupon code (PVE-B1T-4X9 <use at CheckOut to receive HOME license for $54.40>) is still available 'til April 30th.
