Trendmicro is adding anti-ransomware to their new OfficeScan beta.

    http://beta.trendmicro.com/en/91064/english/osce-11-sp1-beta.aspx

Is that already in the personal product or is it coming soon? @Mayahana you should know much better in this product :)

CloudApp Beta is a test bed for some technologies. But it's designed for enterprise, and hosted enterprise. But still a test bed for new technology. Alex So is the beta manager for Trend right now. This beta ends on April 24th, and another beta will begin shortly after.

Hi guys. I just received an update and now my Trend AV+ is version 8.0.1257 (was 1133 before as is the offline installer from their site which hasn't been changed since September last year). Does anyone have any info on changes?

Are you using nVidia graphic card? If so, have you experience any crash with you nVidia driver after the update?

No, I'm using AMD ATI RADEON video card. No problems on my PC after the update.

Tempted to use TM as my security software. I've gone back to my pre-installed version of Windows (ASUS N53SV notebook). TM version 2011 was on it. This thread is providing some great reading alongside some great links. I am comfortable just using Shadow Defender at the moment (even disabled Windows Defender).

The thing that intrigues me is I don't see the word "firewall" anywhere on their website, nor in the TM Max Security PDF? Am I missing something...

They don't have firewall included anymore in their solutions. They use the Windows built-in one plus they have a firewall booster included preventing exploits and similar.

OMG... they make use of the Windows in-built firewall... *drools* thanks for the heads up!

Yes, they do as from Windows 7 on it is very good. F-secure uses it , Avira suite uses it and most of the other vendor's firewalls use its core and sometimes add very little of significance besides a better interface.

Windows Firewall is a good one, even better than some firewalls in IS suites.

Trend uses Windows FW, then 'boosts' it with custom rules and IPS.

Norton has a far better firewall, with advanced IPS. But Trend does very well with the boosted one, probably as well as can be expected giving the way you interface with WFS.

I never cared for Trend personally but from what I have read on them of late they do sound like they are getting better. I think I will wait for 2016 though until I give them a go again.

Agreed. Wait for 1 more iteration of it.. 2015 as a remarkable achievement, but 2016 has new tech, and new bug fixes coming in that should please.

Alex, the beta manager doesn't have firm dates yet. Know they are working on other beta projects with technology that will eventually find it's way into Trend Micro itself, such as exploit protection for email.

I tried Trend recently on my win 7 64 bit system..Shortcuts on desktop looked like the shortcuts for deleted programs..white squares mostly and add-ons and site ratings for the latest Firefox version did zilch!!!....Too bad but I've never had any trend add on work right including the the password keeper from a couple of years ago..

Thanks for the news, I will try it later, hope it will fix performance bugs.

Is it normal to Trend Micro to do just one month of beta testing?

Testing Period: April 16 to May 18, 2015

Thanks for the heads up on this. Will test this out ASAP. Do you guys just test out the AV or are you testing the full suite?
