This is the first article I have ever read that has been critical of the mainstream media's credibility and integrity. The usual right versus left tribal sniping is a given but this article brings into focus the reckless and blind sighted reporting that the public never hears about. When the first reports came out that Sony was the recipient of a malicious cyber attack there were many who were making assumptions as to the origin. That is normal ... we all want to know. When the media gets in lockstep with the government information bureau of misinformation and propaganda, it is history repeating itself. There is conclusive evidence that this is happening, however there is no conclusive evidence that North Korea hacked Sony or arranged for it to be done by others. It is in our collective interest to know where this malware came from and it is becoming abundantly clear that the mainstream media is not going to move off their current narrative.

One of the more insidious damages that has occurred because of the behavior of the security services is quite simply that you cannot believe what Director this or that says - they've been proven untrustworthy, and also quite capable of being fed lies by their own organisations, which happens to fit some confirmation-bias story.

So does this assertion from the FBI make any difference? No. It would be much more interesting to hear why they have been so negligent in helping our IT infrastructure be secure, because they've done the opposite.

America imposes sanctions based on heresay for the criminal activity of the Sony attack. Yet Stuxnet is something holy to be revered as a legitimate arm of government.

The attribution problem is also a smokescreen to divert attention away from the terribly weak state of major corporations' IS security and their vulnerability to attack.

And the damaging role the TLAs and supine politicians have had in that weakness. For example, how come strong encryption is not standard in B2B communications, and at-rest business documents?

"The Interview: Activist 'sends DVDs into N Korea by balloon'

    ...
A South Korean activist says he has flown thousands of copies of controversial Sony film The Interview over the North Korean border.
    ...
Balloons releases infuriate the North but South Korea says they are an expression of free speech
Mr Lee, a defector from the North, said he had tied the DVDs to balloons along with bundles of US dollars and leaflets criticising Mr Kim's regime.
He told AFP news agency: "I launched thousands of copies and about a million leaflets on Saturday, near the western part of the border."
