Hackers Who Took Down Sony Now After A News Organization http://www.ubergizmo.com/2014/12/hackers-who-took-down-sony-now-after-a-news-organization/
If the Sony hack was indeed instigated by North Korea, this would be a good way to blow some smoke to throw an investigation off it's track, and foment further speculation that the Sony hack was not sponsored by N. Korea.

This is the first article I have ever read that has been critical of the mainstream media's credibility and integrity. The usual right versus left tribal sniping is a given but this article brings into focus the reckless and blind sighted reporting that the public never hears about. When the first reports came out that Sony was the recipient of a malicious cyber attack there were many who were making assumptions as to the origin. That is normal ... we all want to know. When the media gets in lockstep with the government information bureau of misinformation and propaganda, it is history repeating itself. There is conclusive evidence that this is happening, however there is no conclusive evidence that North Korea hacked Sony or arranged for it to be done by others. It is in our collective interest to know where this malware came from and it is becoming abundantly clear that the mainstream media is not going to move off their current narrative.

One of the more insidious damages that has occurred because of the behavior of the security services is quite simply that you cannot believe what Director this or that says - they've been proven untrustworthy, and also quite capable of being fed lies by their own organisations, which happens to fit some confirmation-bias story. So does this assertion from the FBI make any difference? No. It would be much more interesting to hear why they have been so negligent in helping our IT infrastructure be secure, because they've done the opposite.

The attribution problem is also a smokescreen to divert attention away from the terribly weak state of major corporations' IS security and their vulnerability to attack. And the damaging role the TLAs and supine politicians have had in that weakness. For example, how come strong encryption is not standard in B2B communications, and at-rest business documents?
