    Yes, when I checked via the internal updater (9 hours ago) it said FF was already up to date, so I went and downloaded the installer and installed "over the top" and it worked fine, it usually finds a new update/version via the internal check, but this time it didn't for some reason.

    @xxJackxx

    I have browsed with 37.0 for several hours and it hasn't crashed a singel time.

    I also notice that the "freezes" that happened occasionally (e.g just before a video stream starts playing) with the last 3-4 firefox versions is much much better for me with 37.0, and I haven't updated anything else today, like Flash, so it must have been a firefox problem.

    Maybe it would be good to start a new thread about that, since I haven't used FF for more than a few months so I am interested to find out too. I did search around couple weeks ago but I didn't manage to find a list that was up to date, so I stopped looking for one. :doubt:

    I think lately, things have been getting better between Firefox and Flash, in my case have to add Sandboxie in the mix. There are workarounds that I used to do to make the mix work better, I am not doing them anymore. Now, things are better without the workarounds.

    About the update. I was able to update my W7 Via Help but a few hours later when I tried to do the same in my XP, I got the Firefox is up to date message. I updated the XP doing an over the top. All is well.

    Knowing you have used Firefox for MUCH longer than I have, it's great to hear that they have finally understood that they are supposed to work alongside each other, not against each other :)

    They really are working together to make things better between Firefox and Flash. Making it possible to disable Flash protected via about:config is an example of that. It used to be a little complicated to disable PM, now its very easy to do.

    Thanks but no luck. Strangely, this seems to be the only site it crashes on. I can use it for hours on other sites but when I come here it crashes anywhere between immediately and half a dozen clicks. Posting this from IE, no issues there.

    You're welcome. :) I went went digging for some answers when the plugin check page informed me that I was using an outdated version, yet the internal updater was telling me it was up-to-date. Wanted to know if there was a problem with the internal updater on 36.0.4 that might be affecting others, or if the new version was buggy and had been pulled (sounds like that is the case), or if the servers were simply overloaded and had been throttled to cope.

    mantra, you should wait. There's an Issue with Firefox 37 now, and they are trying to fix it.

    I don't know if I'm speaking too soon but I downgraded to 36.0.4 and it seems ok so far.

    xxJackxx, that's the prudent thing to do, for now, if Firefox 37 is giving you problems.

    Desktop updates were disabled due to crash issues. (bug 1149761, bug 1149864).

    A Candidate 37.0.1 Build 1 is up for testing now.

    No, 64bit Windows version was supposed to arrive with Firefox 38 Beta. So far, nothing.
