It will come with v6 release but I won't tell you when it comes (because every time I tell my estimate things go not as I planned).
No-no, I don't mean a SaaS. I mean a simple cross-platform proxy server you can route your traffic through. Something like privoxy but better
That's what UTM's do, proxy web traffic for ad filtration. It's hard to maintain, and pages can break, which is probably why nobody has done it on a broad scale.
That's what I am talking about. Making such proxy (with AG quality filtration) is not very hard for me (in fact the hardest thing is to write a readme and run/stop scripts). Just not sure if there are a lot of people who would use it.
Could you please check the filters in user filter? Roundcube works good for me with the same filters as you have.
I was trying to reproduce it in stable version instead. I see this in beta, will be fixed soon. Thank you!
I recently installed the adguard extension for firefox just to give it a spin and encountered a couple of problems.I ran adguard in tandem with noscript and noticed that the element picker in adguard did not function. Also i attempted to add some filterlists and adguard did not show these as added. Uninstalled.
1. Conflict with noscript - confirmed, we'll fix it soon. 2. Have you clicked "Save changes" in "All filters" dialog?
hello avatar. yes i clicked save changes after selecting more filters but the added filters did not appear in the filterlist. thanks
@The Red Moon Can't reproduce that one with filters. Did you have any addons enabled besides noscript? Do you use noscript with default settings?
Hey, it's almost a day since Spartan has shown up, why nobody discussing this? Meanwhile, Adguard beta version already supports it: https://dl.adguard.com/d/2/adguardInstallerBeta.exe
I have also noticed the web-browsing slow down with Adguard that other users have mentioned as well. But I was able to get my web browsing speed back with Adguard by unchecking Use Adguard Assistant which, in order to work, I assume must inject code into every web page that it filters. I also unchecked Inform about web site reputation as well. After disabling those options, it made a considerable difference in web browsing efficiency. I went on further to disable the majority of Adguard's features, leaving only bare-bones ad blocking, and now things are looking good here. I really like the UI, from installation to program usage, etc. Adguard is very tidy and well organized, making fantastic use of the small amount of pixels in which it is using. Nice and professional. The difference from Ad Muncher is like night and day, when comparing visually. My main gripe about Adguard at the moment, though, is that it seems to lack far behind Ad Muncher in terms of filtration. And I would have expected the opposite. However, I do really like how Adguard makes it very easy to report web sites that are still showing ads and/or leftover elements. Adguard should consider getting AM's creator-of-rules behind their team because that seems to be AM's strong point. I am going to continue testing Adguard for a few more days because I am enjoying it so far and will purchase a lifetime licence if testing continues to go well.
Admuncher you can report non-blocked ads by hitting Shift-Enter on a webpage, then click on report a missed ad. I agree- Adguard assistant REALLY slows down page openings, and really must be disabled.. My main issues with Adguard (and I own 9 licenses I do not currently use), are; 1) Tooltip bug, where it sits 'randomly' on my desktop, and stays until I reboot system. 2) Randomness with it running. Sometimes it doesn't start correctly, or properly initiate. 3) Fairly significant page load impact for SOME pages in comparison to alternative products 4) Page breaking. AS Wild notices, sometimes it doesn't filter right, or breaks pages. Admuncher handles those with gusto usually, like slideshows. Adguard doesn't do so well on them. If they fix those things I will be pretty happy with it. I assume most work has moved on to v6, so we're playing wait and see for that.
Which browser do you use? Assistant should not influence browsing speed (maybe a bit, definitely should not be visible).
Currently this bug is fixed partially. It may stuck but it will go away if you click or hover the tray icon. That is more about filters, not AG itself. If you report any of these we'll fix it.
