I tried it and contrary to all the results in the tests found it heavy, seemed to slow browsing and applications down too much, pity as it was one of their free licence givaways for 9months!

Don't want to start another thread just for this,so...here is my question:is there a setting in BIS 2015 to make the firewall interactive?I remember that in the past versions it was such a setting for sure.

There's 4 Settings I see. First is Firewall uncheck it (from blue to black) that should do it.

Ok I looked around a bit.

    Edit: Ripped from BD forums.

When Paranoid Mode is turned on, the Autopilot is automatically switched off.

As long as Paranoid Mode is on, an alert will be displayed prompting you for action
every time one of the following situations occurs:
    ● An application tries to connect to the Internet.
    ● An application tries to perform an action considered suspicious by the Intrusion
Detection System or the Active Virus Control.
The alert contains detailed information regarding the application and the detected
behavior. You must select to Allow or Deny the action using the corresponding
    button.

FYI: Paranoid Mode was eliminated from BD 2015 products. (Setting Intrusion Protection to Aggressive is Similar in protection but may result in False Positives. that human intelligence might have prevented :))

Many complained about removal of Paranoid Mode in BD 2015

Seems to me that Bit Defender 2015, AV Comparatives Product of the Year 2014, Can't be Bad

I believe the Bit Defender Product typically included in AV Comparatives testing was BD IS 2015

    I am trying Bitdefender Free.

Its not clear to me what the Mybitdefender account is or how it works. A message appears, "Not logged, XX days left". I can login using the Google account, but when I logoff, the message about "XX days left" appears again. Must I be logged in permanently? What happens if I don´t login ever?

It seems that I found the answer in: Full Version: Bitdefender Free Edition License Key.

"For the product to remain free, you must stay logged in all the time. That's how it works."

I don´t like this, very intrusive. Will try Panda free.

PC Advisor seems to be quite generous with the stars they bestow on AV software.
    Their reviews list.
Just a couple of 3/5s on there, everything else is beyond your wilders imagination ;-D

I tried bit defender internet security 2015 and it worked well for two days but from third it started slowing down my PC i.e. boot time increased, browsing speed reduced, CPU started hanging, delay in launching application .
All online reviews are showing good results because they are not testing each product for longer period because we can get actual performance only when it is tested for some days.
According to me end users review is the best .

BitDefender 2016 is coming. Should we start a new thread (seems this one is dedicated to 2015) or let the op or mod change the title?

    @Nightwalker what's your opinion?

    http://www.bitdefender.com/subscribetobeta/?sm_id=SMGlobal

    Register for beta testing here.

As for 2015, the latest version seems to have IDS issue in x64 systems resolved. I see people reporting IDS blockings. Also, some on-going daily wild double-click test shows that AVC is good.

I'm still using it & pleased with BDIS but I had a disgusting & arrogant (on BD's part) correspondence with BD CS. My 2nd to last response to them.

    "Elena,

So far I fixed it last night.

    Windows 7 x64 - Program & Features - select BDIS - Uninstall or Repair - REPAIR.

    So far so good.

I have to chastise BD corp. uninstalling MBAM would have NOT fixed the high RAM usage. And advising myself & others to uninstall MBAM is irresponsible at best, corporate arrogance cookie cutter solutions at worst.

I assume Elena this solution was read off a forced sheet of solutions written by someone higher up. So I am NOT blaming you Elena.

I know BD has a VERY strong dislike of MBAM & wrongly blames this program. Because I belong to Wilders Security Forum. The best & most trusted computer security forum in the world.

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/.

And uninstalling MBAM is ALWAYS the 1st suggested solution by BD support. Myself & thousands (FORUM topic views) of others are DISGUSTED by this arrogance & hate by BD corp.

Thought I would tell you Elena the TRUTH & you could pass this up the corp. ladder.

This arrogance by BD corp. is THE reason many thousands do NOT renew their subscriptions & tens of thousands (FORUM topic views) don't TRY BD products in the 1st place.

Why a REPAIR isn't the 1st solution suggested is beyond me. It is ALWAYS uninstall MBAM.

BD corp. - change, visit WSF & make ammends or CONTINUE to lose tens of thousands of customers every year.

    Sincerely,
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

Well I have a subscription for BD Total Security 2015 MD. It's a nice product, I think the best running of any BD to date. It does cause some minor, but annoying issues with browsing.issues with browsing.

My main beef with BD is that you download your latest version from My Bitdefender. I have been deprived of at least 6 months of use because of an error caused by linking Avangate to MyBitdefender. How does "Sorry, we are unable to link your subscription to MyBD at this time." Happens more often than not and dealing with Avangate can be a nightmare. Support requires your license key, which is something you don't ever receive. And Avangate is notorius for it's auto renew program. Even if you are able to opt out by looking very hard for the link which is fairly well hidden, Avangate has a reputation for ignoring your opting out and auto renewing your subscription.

Usually these auto-renew issues eventually get ironed out but it can be a long and frustrating process.

So BD ends up being worse than a virus...
