Hi all, As of Jan 1st, 2015 we are discontinuing the Returnil System Safe 2011 product line. For those with current licensing, your subscription terms are still valid and you will still receive full product technical support through to the end of current licensing. Returnil Virtual System Pro 2011 and Returnil Virtual System Lite 2011 will continue to be available for those customers not upgrading to Windows 8 or the new version of Windows due later this year (ref: Windows 10). We are ending the RSS line as we end our experiment with vertical integration of Antimalware and anti-execute to enable us to concentrate on our core disk level sandboxing/virtualization technology going forward with the new v4x QuietZone generation. Kind regards Mike
Farewell then RSS 2011....old friend. It has saved many a system from unwanted changes for sure.A very well designed piece of kit. Goodluck with the QuietZone line Mike. Regards Eck
I have been using Quite Zone for about 6 months now and really like the simplisity of use. I like how it Has the incorporated TOW browser along with noScript. I also like how it erases any changes to your usb sticks-drives on reboot. One thing it took me awhile to figure out is a shutdown is not the same as a restart. When I just shut down and turn back on, All changes remain but only when I do a restart are all changes undone.
Hi, Like the older RVS generation, putting a system in standby or to sleep is simply a suspension of the current boot session. You will need to perform a full restart to drop changes. Mike
Sad news indeed. Is this a complete stop to the product or is there something in the pipeline to perhaps replace it....?
Hi Red Moon, As I note above, we are simply retiring the integrated antimalware and continuing with the development of our disk level sandboxing technology. This is for two important reasons: 1. Better compatibility with a wider range of potential security strategies and solution line-ups 2. Refocusing our efforts on our core virtualization technology QuietZone is completely redesigned from the bottom up with significantly improved performance and compatibility with the latest generation of the Windows Operating System. During the redesign we also concentrated on ensuring it is backwards compatible with the same, older generations of Windows that the v2.1x (RVS Lite) and RVS 2011 (v3.2x) generations are compatible with so our users will be able to upgrade to the new versions of Windows with as little difficulty as possible after moving to the new QZ. Take the new version for test drive and kick the tires hard. I think you will be impressed with the improved performance, ease of use, and better organized GUI. Kind regards Mike
Hi Coldmoon "Hi, Like the older RVS generation, putting a system in standby or to sleep is simply a suspension of the current boot session. You will need to perform a full restart to drop changes." And so shutting the computer completly down has the same effect as sleep or standby with Quitezone? I don't think one can find a simpler GUI
No, completely restarting the computer will cause changes to be dropped. If you allow the computer to hibernate or sleep, the system does not restart, it simply goes into a suspended mode with the boot session being continued when you wake the computer. The way you frame the original question leads to the conclusion that in your case: 1. "shutdown" = hibernate (or suspend or sleep) 2. "restart" = complete restart of the computer
Today I tried to start quitezone and it asks for a password. I don't remember setting one but if I did I would remember it. When I look in the GUI is says not registered but it shows commercial LIC good till oct 2015. If I have a password I can not remember it.
Best thing to do is to open a support ticket so we can explore the issue in greater detail. You can do this through the GUI at Help & Support > Report an Issue
I went to uninstall it and then was going to reinstall it but I selected repair and after doing a repair it no longer asks for a password And so all is well again,.
"Returnil System Safe 2011" is a different product, different from "Returnil Virtual System Pro 2011" ...and the latter is still supported? http://www.returnilvirtualsystem.com/returnil-virtual-system
Hi inka, RVS Pro 2011 is of the same generation but is without the antimalware component that was in the RSS version. RVS Pro 2011 still remains available for those who need or prefer that generation. I would suggest taking a look at the new Quietzone generation which is compatible Windows XP Sp2 through Windows 10 whereas RVS Pro 2011 does not support the newer generations of Windows.
