    Hello everyone,

I'm getting the dreaded message above and I know my password. I have tried selecting the mount option to use the backup header embedded in the drive to no avail. I have tried loading the file on another computer. I'm at a loss and don't know how to attempt the winhex process (if it applies)

My volume is an encrypted file container, and its on my system drive. I Have no idea what could have caused this to happen. The container holds private health information I've kept from years of private practice.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks.

Starting with the most obvious and yet overlooked possibility. Did you create an actual backup volume header that you can use? Not talking about relying upon the embedded header. Super useful small 128K file. Use that to do the header restore if you took the time to create one.

    Thanks for your help Palancar.

Unfortunately, I didn't know anything about headers before this and didn't create an external backup file. I'd used truecrypt for years and never had a problem like this before.
