I will check but I think it's the one's only paid for from Webroot site's and Reseller with a link I have in my siggy not the ones from Newegg or other legitimate online places like Amazon or boxed versions. Because I got few for friends and I or them never had any renewal notice when they ran out.

I've got Win 7 64-bit. I solved the problem by installing Windows Firewall Control 4. It seems to run nicely alongside WSA and I'll just use it to block the odd app now and again from accessing the internet. It would be nice, though, if that little function was built into the WSA firewall. Other than this minor quibble, WSA Complete is doing anything I'd want such a suite to do. And it appears to do it very nicely and very quickly. I even decided to put it on my LG G3 smartphone. With the control center, that seemed a wise thing to do.

The more I think about it, a subscription model is not a bad idea. It seems to run about $89.00 a year, which is around the standard, non-sale cost of many security suites. That seems kind of pricey to me, but the upside is that (1) you don't have to cough up $89.00 right off the bat, and (2) you can opt out in a few months without being out the full price. This idea has merit. Now we'll see if the price point is right for most folks.

89$ is NUTS and i would NEVER PAY that amount. and i have not payed anywhere near 89$ for any av ever for the year. not when i can get an av for under 20$ no offense but if webroot ends up solely going this way it would be the end of me using or recc it to clients. not a chance i would pay monthly for an av... people that go this way imo are nuts...

i really hope they do not switch to this model in the future and continue to go with yearly. i mean right now on newegg you can get a 5pc complete lic for 15$ for a whole year, and they want people to pay 7.50$ a montho_O?

Yes, I did mention it was a bit pricey and that consumers would determine whether the price point was attractive or doable. At the right price point, though, it could be a decent model.

Yep, i just recently bought the $14.99 5-device deal for WSA Complete. I would not likely have bought it at $7.49 a month, or anything else for that matter, if there were alternatives. I'm not married to any particular AV developer. When my AVs begin to expire I look for the best deal available for decent AVs. But I could see where, at the right price, a monthly subscription could be attractive for some people. Heck, I know people who pay $7 or $8 a month for Netflix and rarely watch anything on it.

OK, Eggnog looked around and found the same deal for $14.99 but that was a special deal and in my opinion if Webroot sold all their WSA Complete 5-device subscriptions for that price, they would go bust! Frankly…

However, what do you think of the following?

    Go to www.webroot.com
Go to “Internet Security for Home”
WSA Anti-Virus is $29.99 per year for 1 device
Taking this path, that appears to be the maximum number of devices allowed for that price

    Now take a different path:
    Go to www.webroot.com
Go to “Internet Security for Home”
    Click “Help me Choose”
Select “3” for answer to question “How many computers do you need to protect?”
Now WSA Anti-Virus can be purchased for exactly the same price but for 3 devices

    Weird…

I didn't know this until I just stumbled across it, but it looks like at least one other developer is doing a subscription service.

to anyone who wants to try this monthly sub and think they can just cancel i have verified that they will have a early termination fee for cancelling early....

"If you cancel during the trial period, you won’t be charged. If you cancel after the trial, but before the end of the subscription period, you will be charged 50% of the total subscription price minus any monthly fees that you have already paid."

also when i asked i was told this is a monthly subscription that is a 1 year contract. so cancelling early will yield 50% of the full remaining year as well as anything you already paid of course is non-refundable

Well, I would guess this news isn't going to attract many users and will likely irritate more than a few if they decide to cancel three or four months in. In light of this news I recant my earlier notion that a subscription model might be a good idea, or at least not with these caveats. At least with Netflix and other similar subscriptions they aren't hammering you for a year if you cancel.

I wouldn't worry to much it's only a test and in a few weeks I will ask for some numbers and as Eggnoq pointed out another AV is trying the same thing. Maybe there are some that would go for the monthly plan I know we advanced users may not so it will be very interesting to see if there is a market for a Monthly Subscription?
