http://www.ghacks.net/2015/02/27/paypal-ends-business-relationship-with-mega/ This is nothing new for PayPal, but on the Mega's blog on this subject (linked from the Ghacks article) they claim that "PayPal acknowledged that the business is legitimate, but advised that a key concern was that MEGA has a unique model with its end-to-end encryption which leads to `unknowability of what is on the platform`." If this is true, it is indeed troubling news.
I know this probably is more a concern over piracy than encryption but paypal has set a dangerous precedent. Makes me worried about how much they cooperate with government. Maybe time to ditch paypal, at least the one in my real name.
About 1-2 years ago, PayPal dropped PRQ. Their payment options are now: But hey, isn't losing PayPal a win for privacy?
I have paypal for stuff the I OPENLY allow to track to my real identity. In other words for items that I would buy standing in front of relatives at the store, only I am getting a better price! I keep Bitcoins and several wallets ready to go for the "other stuff". LOL!!
Apart from Paypal's action with Wikileaks, they also (briefly but damagingly) cut ProtonMail off for a week. There's so much extra-judicial nonsense going on at the moment, it's very dangerous.
