Is it stable enough to use? Any major prob?
Does it updates/upgrades automatically? Or have to manually download & install new versions?

It is stable only. Do not misjudge by seeing the version number being <1.0 :) (For firefox though, you might see little inconsistencies in display of the icon on the toolbar)
Yes, it auto updates automatically for Chrome/Safari.
For Firefox, it is still under experimental addon queue in AMO. So, it will be auto updated once it is approved. Till then you have manually install from github.

Even if its not official beta its still new and will have more issues than established blockers. There is a reason its updated so much its updated every few days its because there are bugs in it its actually quite hard to keep up to date on firefox since its updates so often and there is no auto update atm.

I Agree, there can be little bugs here and there. But to the most people, if using as a daily driver, it might not be much of a trouble.
And the number of frequent updates, can also be attributed, to constant drive for adding/maturing features, like in the case of v0.8.9, where its parsing and loading of filtering lists is improved to further enhance performance during browser launch/reload of filter lists :)

Maybe try reporting the issues to easy privacy list maintainers? So, you could just end with using one add on itself ;)

Im not sure what issue is because i found a weird fix.

For some reason i use complete list which includes Easylist, Easyprivacy, Enhanced Trackers List and Annoyances List

It will work fine but not with easy privacy standalone wtf...

You have already been said that Internet Explorer doesn't admit extensions, it's simply impossible to implement.

Ok i figured out what is causing the site to break with easy privacy.

I used ghostery to see what part was needed for links to work. .

If you block Media Optimizer(adobe) then links wont work if you allow it they work. I assume easylist is blocking this.

At this point im just going to use adblock plus to block ads and ghostery for privacy.

  16. Here is another wish. I am realising I am asking a lot, but would not that be easy for non-techies to just block third party stuf excluding css and images and just PICK an element/web-object to allow by PICK-ing it? In this example an movie in an iframe/script?

Hi guys. Is uBlock similar to Disconnect? Which do you feel is better? Thanks in advance.

Hi Trooper, Yes and more, and also more effective, before I used the Adguard and Disconnect extensions in firefox as a combo, but since I moved to uBlock I could even remove Disconnect as well. Install uBlock in your browser and use the out of the box settings and see if you like, if you have a question or if something doesn't work as before you can always ask.

Being a new ublock user, I have a couple of questions. . .

    1) If you select the "Advanced User" checkbox to engage the "Default-Deny options, and later decide you no longer you no longer want thee "Advanced User" options, will simply unchecking it discard all of the rules that were created while in that mode?

    2) The "Advanced User" option creates a new UI popup having two columns. The columns aren't labeled, so I was just wondering what the 1st column is and what the 2nd column is? (I assume it might be "global" vs "site specific")

    3) In a few columns, I see pluses (+) and minuses (-). What do they mean?

    4) Not sure I totally understand the concept of "temporary" vs. "permanent" rules. What exactly is a "temporary" rule? Is it just for that online session -- or until revoked -- or o_O??

    1. No it it will keep all rules, you can see this for yourself in the "My Rules" Tab, you can also export rules, go to settings>My Rules tab>export to file
    2. Yes, Column 1= Global Column 2= Site Specific
    3. How many more scripts/calls that script makes for other domains
    4. The temporary rule is until it gets revoked or until you shutdown your PC

Well, more precisely, µBlock will still save all rules but they will no longer be applied.
