Yes, it changes color when you disable protection.

    Thank you Kaptain!

    Great!

  4. On a recent low end dual core Pentium G3240 with sata-2 SSD): First program launch delay of Chrome is only 0.41 seconds, consecutive cached chrome starts the delay is only 0.08 secs.

On a older low end dual core Pentium P4600 with sata-2 Hybrid HDD): First program launch delay of Chrome is only 0.54 seconds, consecutive cached chrome starts the delay is only 0.1 secs.

All tested with AppTimer and compared to running without AV (so first PC launch without Panda is 0.5 with Panda it is 0.9, second PC first launch without Panda is 2.4 with Panda it is 2.9 seconds)

I found my holy grail free setup with Panda antivirus.

Panda Free + Norton DNS + Chrome + µBlock + Unchecky

Very fast, powerful and costs nada.

Panda AV free: installs Panda Security toolbar, yahoo search takeover and MyStart (powered by Yahoo) home page takeover. No product rebrands, at least the installer is clear that both are Yahoo products.

For me it isnt a problem, because it is optional and it makes clear that is Powered by Yahoo.

Panda free has the same protection as the paid versions, it is very good.

I wont use it personally for now, but I will install this setup for my friends who dont want to pay for antivirus.

I dont like that the toolbar install is required for web protection, though toolbar can be uninstalled later & web protection is there.
Is it still the same in the latest Panda Cloud Free?

Yes it is, only on paid version that you dont need the toolbar.

Anyway just use the free version without the toolbar, combine it with Norton DNS and Chrome + µBlock and you have more than enough protection.

true, not a deal breaker for people who don't want to pay, but just thought of making it clear.

It's one of the better free solutions out there to be honest.

There is no clear test for panda without the url filter, because most of the malwares are caught by url filter. I like to know its effectiveness without url filter.
Paid version of panda does not include url filter instead there's a component called safe browsing and this component is integrated into main UI. I don't have any idea how url filtering is different from safe browsing though.

I have tested Panda Cloud previously.
    Decent signature protection.
Sometimes it mention cannot neutralize the threat & gives a link on the popup that takes you to a Panda page that is not helpful for average users.
And after system restart nothing from Panda & so dont know if a restart was required to clean the threat or what happen but Hitmanpro & malwarebytes didn't found anything related to that threat.

Its behaviour blocker is not good.
Atleast in my tests it never detected a single threat.

Thanks. That's what I'm talking about. Panda without url filter is just an average AV.

Last time I used Panda you could uninstall the toolbar and still keep the URL filter, is it still so?

Anyone had a successful auto update to latest version yet?

    Thanks.

  20. Panda despite its cloud claim scored average on in the wild tests with recent malware, until they added exploit protection in 2.1, which really started to show its benefits from version 2.2 Panda Free without URL filter is still a great free AV. Just look up the 2014 test results of Panda Free in AV-test.
Just use google's or microsoft's URL-filtering instead (it comes with the browser). Like nightwalker suggested it is a good idea to add Norton DNS or simular DNS service to compensate for URL filter.

Several PC's? They crashed ALL of their endpoint systems...

We inform you that today, a false positive in the signature file affecting Panda Cloud Office Protection, Retail 2015 products and Panda Free AV has caused certain files to be moved to quarantine.

This signature file has already been replaced and this situation should not recur. Nonetheless, it is very important NOT TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER until a solution is available. Panda Security is investigating this issue at this very moment and looking for a fix.

For more information, please visit: http://www.pandasecurity.com/uk/homeusers/support/card?id=100045.

Unrelated to this issue, the US office was experiencing an outage with our phone service. The issue is being resolved, but to get the most immediate response, please email your sales representative directly, or email partners@us.pandasecurity.com.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We will keep you informed at all times.

    Best,
    Panda Security, US
