    Good morning,

    I begin to use Paragon Backup & Recovery™, version 10.1.19.16240 (22.11.12 ) Free. I use Windows XP SP3.

First I did several times a CHKDSK on my C: partition system. There were errors but were corrected. My partition is very well. Checking the archive integrity gives me errors:

"Error integrity between 7491584 and 7492096 sectors" for example.

If I again check the integrity of the archive I have 1, 2 or 5 errors of this type. What can I do?

    Best regards.
    JPL.

I have encountered archive integrity errors on occasion. The fault always was with the destination drive, not with the source drive. In my case, I was using a Western Digital (WD) external drive. Running the WD diagnostics, available at their site, if not included with the drive, resolved the errors. On one occasion, I used an alternate backup solution, and it too reported integrity errors, so this is not a bug in Paragon. There are integrity issues, most likely caused by bad clusters or a messed up file system on the destination drive. You could also run chkdsk /r on the external drive, and if things are really messed up, there is a product for sale, called Spinrite, from Gibson Research Company, that will really do a deep scan, clean up, and recovery of the drive, although, depending on the state of the drive, it could take days to run and complete, if the drive is seriously compromised.

Hope this helps. Have a great day.

    Regards,
    -Phil

    Hello Phil,

    Thanks for your answer.
I have an Western Digital (WD) external drive too. But I have the same problem with an external box in which I connected an internal disk.

    I tried 2 solutions :
-1) backup with no compression. I have the same type of errors
-2) backup sector by sector. The integrity verification is well. It's longer in time and space.

    Best regards.
    Jean-Pierre.

    Hello Phil,

I followed your advice. I run CHKDSK on the external drive. I's good now.

    Thank you very much.

    Best regards.
    Jean-Pierre.
