I think that's the second time I've heard Snowden not really buy into the encrypted phone hype. He makes the point that it'll protect people from having their phone stolen, but he seems to doubt it'll protect much against three letter agency types. Vaguely claiming that he's a only aware of a handful of encrypted devices that couldn't be broken into... Is he talking about them waiting for an adversary to decrypt the device themselves and rushing in? Or planting a camera, or malware or something that would capture the moment something is decrypted? I mean, there's different ways to go about a thing, but I'm just wondering here.

Then also throws in the little "we hacked Chinese hackers" thing without really going into it.

Sorry I don't have timestamps, I watched this days ago, but I was wondering a bit about those claims.

    EDIT

Ok, I'm assuming stuff like this then: https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2014/10/30/hacking-team/

Completely agree. This country has perverted the meaning of words like patriot (and several others that are being grossly overused). Regarding:
If things keep going the way they are, there won't be a revolutionary time. For most, reality TV is more important that reality.
When are people going to quit covering their eyes and see this "national state system" for what it is, a merger between government and big money corporations (aka Fascism) whose sole purpose is to strengthen and enrich themselves at everyone elses expense?

I discovered this whilst reading about something else he worked on.

NSA data cryptographer & processing etc pioneer Dr. Howard Campaigne, interviewed by an NSA colleage in 1983. Classified Above Secret @ the time, released under a FOIA request since then. Some names & details still blanked out, but a Lot remains, including this gem !

After NSA Chief lied to US Congress, and CIA spied on US Senate, and US Congress politicians say they do not know what NSA is doing, you can not believe anything US Gov say about cybersecurity. Even moreso if it is about weapons against US enemies.

Even so, most Americans probably do want US Gov to stockpile zero-day exploits to hack enemies, if only for using to hack foreign enemies. But it is problem that it is not guarantee that such like weapons only will be use against foreign enemies. History show that people in power will use their weapons against anyone they decide is a threat to their power.
