File system became RAW after accidentally initializing drive in disk management

    At first, I was unable to change the drive letter of the the HFS+ drive and encountered similar problems mentioned in this thread.
    HFS external drive not appearing on windows machine

    I followed the instructions mentioned by Jorge Figueroa in the thread (post #4) and when I inserted my HFS+ drive, disk management asked me to initialize the drive. Little did I know that it would wipe the file system. Now, windows is asking me to reformat the drive which i cannot do because I have tons of files in the drive. When I tried to attach it on my mac, it thinks it is some kind of windows file system and thus I am unable to run my recovery software.

    What are my options to recover my data? Is there a way to force the file system back to HFS+ without reformatting?
