I feel that I ought to apologize to the forum members, as I have been absent from this forum for many weeks. I've been extremely busy trying to meet all of my current commitments before I leave on a month-long vacation, and there are still several jobs that I need to get done, so I won't be spending any time on the forums for awhile.

For those of you with TrueCrypt problems, I hope you will be able to make some sense out of my numerous past postings on that subject. If you need my personal assistance then I'm sorry to say that I won't be back until October 5, at which point I should have enough free time to offer a limited amount of TrueCrypt support once again.

    Dear Dantz,

this is probably the stupidest possibel way to contact you. I couldn figure out any other way to solve my problem though and I would hope I don't even cause to much work here.
I have a problem with a TC-encrypted partition (under Win XP) that got corrupted, when I tied to mount it in Win 7.
I think you posted the solution to this problem in the TC-forum. It involved using a Hex-editor and some complicated calculations to find out how to manually manipulate the partition table, that seemingly got sot and tell TC where to start decrypting (if I got it right).
Unfortunately this very sophisticated post of yours is gone with the wind, since the TC-forum ceased to exist!
My hope would be that you still have a copy of your post in some other place and would send me a copy of that?

    sincerely,
    Andi

I didn't know him at all personally, so it's not surprising that I haven't.

I worry about him, for whatever that's worth.

Coming up on one year since the last post by Dan (dantz here at Wilders). Dan knew TC upside down, inside and out. He stopped posting after the Truecrypt announcement about ceasing operations. We had some really good PM conversations, here and at the old TC forums - and I miss him greatly. His no longer posting at Wilders pretty much brought good discussion and Truecrypt troubleshooting to a halt in the "Encryption Problems" Privacy sub-forum. Dan, I hope you are well.
