    Hi all!

If I never use instant messaging clients (my gmail chat client is disabled as well), can I safely disable that component in Kaspersky AV to get back some memory/cpu/etc...however slight...in return? Same question for the Email scan component. I'd like to disable it if it's not doing anything for me currently. I'm under the impression that KAV does not scan email's in Gmail (Chrome/Win) unless you set it to do so by tinkering around with some settings in KAV and/or Gmail.

So can I safely disable those components and expect maybe a slight return in 'performance'? Should I enable gmail scanning, if possible?

    Thanks for your help.

You can try but I feel the gain you will achieve are minimal and mostly "placebo" as the software has been optimized on the defaults (I am assuming you are on version 2015).

I tried it and I'm pretty sure I notice a nice improvement in application start up times. Even on the samsung ssd. I deleted my old performance reports in Magician so I can't really confirm but I know just by looking at certain slower apps and how much quicker they load. Going to keep those components disabled for now.
