I guess there is no problem to solve in next beta... :D

This happened last time as well. It's either simply preparation or (unlikely but possible) early closed testing only some can see. Not what we're used to with Tzuk but we need to let Invincea do it their way.

    Cheers

Well they do not honour the lifetime license, i contacted them giving my order details and old reg number because i wanted to start using it again, the old number no longer works because they changed the registration system a long while back. No reply

Do tell, if they have not replied, how do you know "the old number no longer works because they changed the registration system a long while back"?

Page, in August 2010 (before you became a SBIE user:cool:), the Sandboxie registration system was changed and old licenses were replaced by new ones. Look at changes for Version 3.48.:)

    You take copious notes, Bo!
I guess I mentioned somewhere when I started using SBIE (Dec 2010) and you have that info at your fingertips?
    Impressive.

I knew it was Dec that year. I remember very well the first few posts of you talking about SBIE.

That does no good here. You need to contact support(on a weekday) and send them the email which you used to acquire sandboxie as well as the info you posted here, and them they should be able to help you.

I'm still using v3.76 because it works great and I see no compelling reason to change. But I also have installers for 4.06... the last version that I'm sure Tzuk did himself, just in case I want to upgrade sometime.

But I gather most of the changes from v4 on are aimed at Win7/8 users and aren't really of much good to me.

They have changed in 4.10 and 4.12 that they build under VS2010 so DEP and ASLR work, and the Visual C++ redistributable libraries now update under the normal MS update channels - both of which are worthwhile IMO.

did someone mentioned that you are fooling yourself while thinking sandboxie can secure your highly vulnerable XP?

cant green enough about it :D

hint: v4 has beside some fixed features and s not only more secure to Windows 7 and a must on windows 8, although XP has no DEP and ASLR, XP is just an outdated crap, nothing to discuss on.

    "that they build under VS2010"
i would like to have it compiled with VS2012 or VS2013 which are not compatible to XP :p

I just want to mention that on my Vista machine I have used for a long time SB version 4.06. I've recently tried to update to version 4.12 (mainly because of the automatic version check), unfortunately the update doesn't work, it hangs the computer and as a result the old version is not fully uninstalled... Restoring an image was the only solution as trying to install any versions after that would be unsuccessful. I'm reporting this for the record as I have no desire to investigate as to why this is happening, version 4.06 worked fine and this is what I'm using now.

Hi Osaban, when you tried to upgrade SBIE in your Vista, Did you use the combined or separate installer?

If you used the regular combined installer, I suggest you try the separate installer. Thats the one that I normally use but its not the one that I use every time. On the other hand, if you used the separate 32/64 bits installer, then run the combined installer. And since you tried version 4.12, you could try upgrading to version 4.13.1 instead.

Another idea. You could try getting your Vista to 4.12 or 4.13.1 by uninstalling SBIE 4.06 first and then updating. You shouldn't be having problems upgrading your Vista. One of my two computers is an XP, my SBIIE upgrades just fine.

And very important, I am sure you know but maybe forgot, disable your antiviruus or any other real time security application during the upgrade. Good luck.

    Bo
