I've also sent an email regarding the crashes and digital certificate. I have not tried the new version yet so can't input.

I can confirm the digital certificate issue with AppGuard, but I don't get any crashes on Windows XP with the latest version when entering Shadow Mode.

I am also not experiencing any crash using XP sp3 32bit ntfs when entering shadow mode.
I'm in Shadow Mode as I write this with ho problem. I'll reboot soon to see if everything is ok there too.

    Patrick

Update Rebooted and went into Shadow Mode for a second time and no problems. So it could be that XP users are not having the problem.

Sorry to hear that CE (which version of Windows are you using)? It seems to be working well here on W7 x64.

Run SD on 2 x220 Lenovo laptops, mine and wife's, running Windows 7 Pro x64 versions and basically same config. Updated new SD version on my laptop, went well. On my wife's saw BSOD while entering shadow mode. Probably will stay away from this on both laptops since these are machine used for critical work. Hope Tony can sort it out and look forward to new features.

Gary, re that info - while both of your laptops are the same model, are they configured with the very same hardware?

Also, are you and your wife running the same software (shown in your signature)?

    Thanks,

    TS

    TS,
To more easily manage both laptops, I bought exactly same hardware on both, only difference is I upgraded my HDD to 1TB 7mm drive while wife's is original 500GB drive. Both have same mSATASSDs for boot drive which is what we shadow most of the time. No real time security on either machine but same on demand scanners used on both. I run more complex programs than she does regarding some other software for my work so her machine is more simple is software and same in hardware. Hope it gets sorted because SD is one of my foundation programs.

If you haven't done so already, do report your experience to support@shadowdender.com with the same details you provided to me.

Thank you for taking the time to do that. I'm sure that every bit of info will help Tony find and remedy this problem.

W7X64 Ultimate SP1. Tony is working with me on it right now. I hope he discovers the problem soon. I posted more details over at the Official Shadow Defender Forum.

Please make sure to send the crash dumps to the developer Tony if you have not already. I also get a BSOD as soon as I try to enter Shadow Mode. Tony is working with me to discover the cause of this BSOD, and hopefully he will find a fix soon. The more feedback Tony gets the easier it will be for him to discover the problem. When you send him the crash dump be sure to tell him it occurs as soon as you try to enter Shadow Mode if that is what is happening. He already has my crash dumps.

Please be sure to send Tony your crash dumps, and describe when the BSOD occurs if you ahve not already. He has my crash dumps, and is currently working with me on this issue. I hope we can make the new versions of SD as bug free as good old 1.1.0.325 has been for me over the years. Lets keep working together on this issue.

Yes, I agree that if anyone has problems to send their crash dumps and any system info details Operating System 32 bit 64 bit ntfs, context of crash, or whatever to Tony at support@shadowdefender.com. Not everyone is experiencing the problems (maybe only a few). This crash scenario may be operating system specific so any feedback would be useful to Tony to fix this. I think in these sorts of situations it's important to describe your personal computer situation and environment as deeply as you can to the developer because we all are all different and run different softwares, security and privacy, some have multiple drives and backup or clone strategies, different Operating Systems with different requirements, system monitors and deep rooted anti virus and anti malware software. Sometimes these deep rooted apps lock horns and bring things to a halt.
I imagine that our individuality in this way makes it more difficult for a developer to get to the root of a problem.
I would be pleased if members would update us on The Official Shadow Defender Forum too if they make any progress with this problem.

I attached a .dmp file from my wife's laptop and sent it to Tony after he sent me an initial reply saying he was digging into the problems. When he responds, if any more news, will try to mention here and official SD support forum. Thanks for all the input here and there on this.

I think the crash is probably hardware specific because some users are having no problems on Window 7 X64, and others are. It could also be related to some unknown software conflict. I uninstalled all my real-time security software, and still got the BSOD. I may try uninstalling Shadow Protect next.

Tony sent me a link to a test version which I have installed on both my x220 laptops. Now, when I go into Shadow mode on my wife's x220, I have no BSOD. When I came out of Shadow mode, no problem. Will test it a few days on both laptops and keep Tony posted but truly he is owrking hard on it. If you can send him as much info as possible, that is great.

If he needs me more info from me then he needs to inform me what else he needs. He has not asked for anything else so far. I hope the Msinfo file I sent him had all the hardware specs he needed.

I am sure what you sent him is fine. He did not ask me for any files when I first emailed me but just thanked me for feedback. Then, after your encouragement here, I sent him the dump file. He has not said he needed any other info yet.
