Android Mobile Antivirus?

    Hello, as an avid ESET customer I have bought a license for my Android phone only to find out, that it is "plagued" by the "total security" thought:

    ESET mobile security keeps telling me there is a "security risk" on my phone only because I did not activate the "anti-theft" part or SMS-commands. Sorry, I do not see how enabling third party software as "device administrators" or allow other persons (even friends) to gain control over my phone from remote(!) would make it any more secure...

    I'm an adult - I *am* entitled to my own errors!

    @ESET: Would it be possible to
    a) release an anti-malware-version only or at least
    b) provide a switch "I know I'm being paranoid and willingly missing out on the best parts of this software so please turn off that security risk message in the status bar"

    Hello SweX, thanks for your quick reply - and no, it doesn't help at all, because that's exactly, what I don't want to do
    I'd prefer having the anti-malware protection without allowing any additional priviledges for ESET Mobile Security (notably: Device Administrators) or set up SMS-Commands or "secure friends"

    Your link exactly points out my issues!

    To make it excrutiatingly clear:
    - I DO KNOW, how ESET Mobile Security wants me to use it
    - I DO DETEST how it does this
    - I SIMPLY want malware protection without any REMOTE functionaltiy
    - I'd rather live with the idiotic "security risk" warning than enabling ANY of the remote functions

    (clear enough?)

    thanks - please don't take this personal - it wasn't meant to be! I appreciate your effort to help me on this one, however, only ESET can sort this one out.

    I just wanted to say that the new Version 2 is a major improvement and completely solves my issues! :)
    Congratulations ESET on the clean and easy UI!
