ClipTTL (formerly ClipWipe) is a tiny system tool that I initially created during my commute to work. You should find it handy if you are into the habit of manually clearing your clipboard by copying some dummy text to overwrite a password or other sensitive information.

It lives in the system tray and does only one thing: ensuring any text copied from any application to the clipboard is securely cleared after 20 seconds, to help prevent compromise of sensitive information (either due to pasting in the wrong window, visiting a malicious website, or swap file leakage).

It's freeware (donations appreciated, though!), portable, zero-configuration, and requires no administrator rights.
    For Windows 7 and later.

    Download location: https://www.trustprobe.com/fs1/apps.html

    Tip: (As of version 1.05)
To use a different timeout value, specify the timeout (in seconds) as a command-line parameter. Example: ClipTTL.exe 60

@svenfaw: when tapping on the link Emsisoft Internet Security reports that 213.186.33.17 is a know bad site and denies access to it.

Is the number of seconds (20) configurable? (now or in future releases)

Would be nice to have that feature.
    ----
    a) If it's shown in the taskbar, there is no name displayed in the taskbar.
    b) Is it possible to add a reference to the website in the window? "ClipWipe 1.03 - Wipes clipboard text after 20 seconds - https://www.trustprobe.com/fs1/apps.html"
    c) Is it possible to add a file version/product version/product name to the file details?

Version 1.05 released. (Renamed to ClipTTL)

A few quick fixes, based on your feedback.
To use a different timeout value, specify the timeout (in seconds) as a command-line parameter. Example: ClipTTL.exe 60

They should name it "ManualClipClear"
    :thumb:
good, that the user now can specify the delay of wiping the clipboard :)

    Suggestion:
I noticed that if something is in the clipboard, it is not cleared after closing the program.
Can such a feature be added?
For example KeePass has an option for that: "clearing the clipboard after closing".

Thanks for the util. :thumb: When I run ClipTTL I get the green check mark in the tray area, however if I right click on it it disappears. What is the name of the running process?

At first i thought it crashed after rightclicking it, but that's only the way you close the program. That leads to a new suggestion:

    Suggestion:
Display a menu after rightclicking the tray-icon:
    "Show Window"
    "Exit ClipTTL"

Thanks for clarifying. I agree it would be nice if ClipTTL displayed a menu with an "exit" option after a right click on the icon.

Yes, it wasn't the best name. But I think I still prefer to clear the clipboard manually. Besides, Keepass also auto-wipes the clipboard, and SpyShelter blocks apps from monitoring the clipboard.

A new release (1.06.002) is available:

    - NEW: right-click menu (as suggested)
    - NEW: left-click to clear immediately

Good to have a right-click menu to exit the tool :thumb:
With previous versions it was a little bit confusing:

Released version 1.07.001, which will also immediately clear the clipboard whenever the desktop session is locked.
This is to protect against this type of (unpatched) vulnerability: https://msitpros.com/?p=3764

But file version still shows as 1.06.002, so is it really 1.07.001 ?
