In case riseup folds, what alternate "free, anonymous, with POP3" provider can you recommend?

Riseup is important for a lot more than that :)

But yes. I'd say Sigaint. But they only have Tor onion mailservers. And you can only use POP with paid (Bitcoin) accounts. But they do peer with clearnet mailservers, as well as with other onion mailservers.

    Earth .... occasionally
That is sad to read , but frankly , not a surprise , not to me anyway .

I had read such good things about the Riseup service , here and many other places and I was eager to try it.
It seemed like a really good fit with my aims and ideals .

But I had nothing but headaches with it and only managed to log-in successfully a few times.
I reckon I have tested all the well-known "secure" email services around , including the "invite" ones ,
and I never had any problems before.

I don't know what I did wrong ; I use VMs for a lot of routine stuff , including the usual browser extensions
and I knocked off all that stuff , step-wise until I had an un-hardened , vanilla browser , and I still couldn't log back in !

Is it super-sensitive to hardware or canvas fingerprinting , user-agent etc ?
I will always go that extra mile to enhance privacy and security , and if it needs more user- input than usual
( with time / money ) I can do that too , but Riseup just frustrated the hell out of me .

Somebody please tell me that I am not the only one . :)

I've never used Riseup webmail, just POP. I don't recall any problems with setup.

Autistici/Inventati. They are activists much like Riseup. However, better to donate to Riseup to keep them going.
