Yesterday night, I tried the live ISO of Peppermint 7.
    https://peppermintos.com/
Version 7 was released on june 24.
Based on Ubuntu 16.04, it's kind of hybrid distro.
It was based on LXDE before, but now uses the XFCE panel and whiskermenu.
The file manager is (Cinnamon's) Nemo, the default text editor is (MATE's) Pluma.
I may be wrong but I think the guy who started Peppermint was on the Mint team before.
I think it's meant to be using live apps but you can install LibreOffice or else if you want.
I'm not a big fan of the default theme, but it can changed of course.
Interesting nevertheless, it feels light and snappy.

ferenos is based on Linux Mint.

It uses the Cinnamon desktop environment and has a ton of desktop customizations so you can theme it any way you want.

But you need at least 30 GB of hard drive space to install it.

    I tried it this morning.
It is an interesting distro, with that mix of Lxde and Xfce and other bits and bobs, felt fast as well.
Unfortunately there were serious glitches like no sound, VLC wouldn't start and other things. These had to be Distro specific because I had several other 16.04s without similar behaviour.

Funny.... when I tested Enchantment OS in live session, it was Xubuntu 16.04! Even the installer was stock Ubuntu Ubiquity.

After I installed it., did I notice the splash screens had changed. Most beautiful set of wallpapers I've ever seen and the distro only needed to fill in its edges.

    Just perfect for newbies.
