There are a lot of cloud storage providers around now, but I thought I would limit this poll to the most popular file syncing services. So, what is your preferred provider, and why?
I like OneDrive because of the large 30GB storage I have. I save misc stuff, mainly. I also have iDrive for my regular backups.
I use IDrive and Zoolz. I bought a 1 year IDrive subscription when they had a discount going. For $34.50 (including shipping to Australia) I got 1TB of cloud storage, and a 1TB external drive for backup as well with WiFi. I've just started using again this week after many months of not using it, as I was finidng the auto backup app to be too heavy for my liking and it was slowing down my PC. It's going better now that I've got a faster laptop and have upgraded to the latest IDrive software. I got a 1 year Zoola subscription free from Giveaway of the Day. I was originally using SpiderOak up until they stopped their free service. My Meizu phone has 42TB of cloud storage included.
Mine breaks down thus: Free - 5gb Camera Roll Bonus - 15gb Free Plan Bonus - 10gb Those are separate from my Office 365 subscription of 1024gb.
I tend to use Google Drive the most, so yeah... Have accounts for all of the ones listed, but rarely use most of them.
That's what I had until I received en email from Microsoft telling me the above bonuses have been discontinued and gave me a month to reduce my data under 5GB. My sons got the same email.
I love Dropbox for a number of reasons. It allows file backup and file sharing, even the deleted files are easily recovered.
Microsoft never advertised it I believe. I found out in another forum to opt-in before it's too late. That was months ago.
Nothing cheaper than 50 bucks a year? Though I guess, all in all not to bad, since Dropbox is like what, 10 bucks per month for 1TB?
A good comparison of the main players. OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive and Box: Which cloud storage service is right for you?
And this is why I would only choose the bigger and hopefully more reputable players. Dropbox tells some users to change their passwords following 2012 security incident
To all the Sync.com users: How do you like the service? I was tempted to check out their service but the 2tb cap has held me back. I'm currently using SpiderOak (giving me an un-metered storage account helped influence that decision... 2.8tb backed up to date), but from what I've seen Sync.com looks a little more user-friendly.
I use Jungle Disk a subsidiary of RackSpace. The price is right for one. But the other biggie for me is security. I've read the TOS of a lot the common ones, and they offer no security. JungleDisk/Rackspace does.
Webroot Backup & Sync. 25 GB is more than what I need. Comes with the security software. I have well over 1,000 days before subscription expires.
I chose other, because I do my own thing. I have better trust in my own stuff than I would some faceless corporation that feels it has to constantly make changes just to make them.
