    A friend picked up this. Is it real or just a scam? Meaning nothing harmful on computer. If it does indeed infect will this remove it>>>

    It is possible it is a legit malware worm. McAfee has a sig for it and appears the other major also have sigs for the real malware. The McAfee write-up is here: https://home.mcafee.com/virusinfo/virusprofile.aspx?key=9594900#none .

    Best to run a full scan with a major AV product; also MBAM should/might detect it. If nothing found and problems persist, time to head to one of malware removal sites; bleepingcomputer.com, malwaretips.com, for a review and help.

    My opinion on the "grayware" security solutions - forget they exist:thumbd:

    OK thanks itman. I also was uncomfortable with Spyhunter. Have doubts about efficacy.
