Strange problem...I'll try my best to adequately describe it as I don't want to name the site.

I was participating in a thread. I posted a couple of screenshots. I'll call them A & B. I saved the webpage. Further down the thread another person posted a screenshot ( I'll call that C ). I right clicked "C" and saved it - so I could more easily work with it as a standalone image. I subsequently saved the webpage a few more times as the thread was added to. When I opened the latest saved version, strangely, there were 2 Image C's - One was where it should have been and the other had replaced my Image A.

I went back through the other versions and they all showed the same thing except the first version which showed image A&B. Image C had not been posted at that point

I went to the website to check things out. The thread appeared as it should have- AB& C were where they were posted. Tried downloading the page again. Same thing as described above.

    - tried moving all the html versions to memory stick and removed stick. - Resaved from website - no change
    - tried moving the images I used plus "C" which I saved - all to mem stick and removed it- Resaved from website - no change
    - Searched the computer for the 3 image files in case a replica was hiding somewhere - a few shortcuts came up and temp files
Used CCleaner to get rid of any shortcuts, temp files and anything else I thought might be relevant (but no reg cleaning).- Resaved from website - no change

I've exhausted all I know to get to the bottom of this. My feeling is somehow theres been a "hardlink" created but Im shooting in the dark. Anyone got an idea whats going on? Any help appreciated.

makes no sense to reproduce without a link. can be anything or nothing in your browser. try a clean profile or safe-mode (if not IE).

I agree without the links to try and reproduce, I am afraid all your typing was a waste. Sorry, we need it all or we can't help

what i can imagine that few content systems offers images as "image.php?123abc" or similar and browser try to save als "image.php", but that is rare and depends on server config
