I´ve just bought a Lenovo Compute Stick (basicly a copy of Intel´s) It is a nice experience. But since I am a backup junkie I would like to have an image of the whole stick so I can restore when I want. For example I would like to test Ubuntu on the stick and go back to windows if necessary. The best thing would be if I could use my Macrium Reflect for that, but maybe I cant? Is there a way to backup an image to an external drive?

Thanks, but a compute stick isnt a USB disc really, it is a computer on a stick that you connect to a display on its HDMI port. So I guess what I am really asking is how to make a image of the system hard drive of an another computer.. it does have wifi, but not a network port. Or do you mean that I somehow can get the stick to behave like a USB stick on my main computer?
Now that I got an input from you Brian, my brain starts to work. I will install an image application on the stick, it is basically a windows 10 computer after all. I am thinking Terabyte Image for Windows) I just have to figure out how to boot to the stick with a bootable USB drive.
Sukarov, the problem most of those devices have is very little BiOS manipulation... don't know much about Lenovo's. But... since it's got a USB port, you should be able to load (for testing) Macrium FREE and produce a BOOT stick using its BOOT creation option (I suggest this due to its ability to deal with both Legacy-MBR and UEFI-Secure BOOT Recovery Media easy generation). The key will be if the BiOS let's you use/select the USB BOOT stick for BOOTing while it's installed (ie, F<n> doe BOOT selection or F<n> to enter SETUP and its ability to change the BOOT order).
Sukarof, I don't know how long you've had the device but there is a BiOS update available (Dated: 20Mar2016).
Lenovo offers nothing useful on its support site in relation to your device (in the area of needed knowledge) but does reference some sort of manual available on the device itself. I was gonna look there for any infor concerning BiOS and SETUP configuration
Here's the UEFI BiOS UPDATE PAGE and it clearly references needing at least a 2-port USB Hub plugged into the sticks USB port for just about anything useful inside that stick. The BiOS can be updated via Windows but my point being you'll most likely need both a MOUSE and a BOOT stick (through that hub) to do most anything useful inside the beast. Be careful...
